“In the end, we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.”
Can No Worries Whale Really Save the Seas?
We’re not saying that our poems are going to single handedly slow the destruction of our Oceans, because they can’t. But people can, and we want to inspire them to do so.
The Oceans are the largest ecosystems on our planet. They provide over half of our oxygen supply, the food we eat and a promise of new medicines that we have yet to discover. The oceans are connected to all life on Earth, and the truth is that future generations depend on something that is now dying at an unprecedented rate.
We are here on Kickstarter because we have an opportunity to leave a positive impact on our planet and give something to those future generations.
Our poems bring animals they don’t always get to see right into their rooms or classrooms, and they provide the perfect opening for a child to fall in love with our oceans. No Worries Whale gives a voice to those creatures under the sea that have none. And the more children know about them, the harder they will work to help conserve those creatures and our Oceans. For if the Oceans prosper, we do too.
The Story of No Worries Whale
We are two moms who have been life long friends. We have done everything together for the past 20 years, and writing this book wasn’t going to be any different.
Writing and art have been a mutual love of ours ever since we met in the second grade. After studying in education, we both agreed that taking something serious and making it funny and engaging was the best way to give a voice to the creatures of our Oceans and teach children about how to take care of our planet through poetry.
We are here on Kickstarter to make our idea a reality. We wanted to create something that parents could use at home and teachers could use in their classrooms, so we have spent 3 years compiling and illustrating this large collection of poetry. We are now in the final stages of completing this book, but we need your help to make this happen!
The Book Itself
No Worries Whale will be a 100-page, 8.5 x 11 inch paperback book that is filled with illustrated rhyme. The illustrations are in color, and the poetry itself takes what can be an incredibly hard subject and breaks it down in simpler terms to enhance children’s understanding of the Ocean. The poems take fun facts about different ocean-dwellers and presents them in a sometimes serious and sometimes nonsensical style that will entertain children and their parents while educating them on the different species with which we share our planet.
There is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to introduce dialogue with children about numerous topics because No Worries Whale offers an array of ocean facts, subject areas and life lessons, and will teach them how and why you recycle.

Risks and challenges
We have all the poems written and illustrated and printing plans all lined up. We are publishing and distributing through Amazon, a well-known company and worldwide distributer of books. So, at this point in the process, the biggest risk to our project is insufficient funding.
All creative projects face unforeseen challenges throughout the course of production, but we are an amazing team and we've enlisted a lot of help to see that this goes smoothly. As the book is already complete and formatted, we will be working hard in our final rounds of editing as the Kickstarter unfolds. If we reach our goal, we will be able to send in our manuscript immediately and begin reviewing the proofs to ensure we are completely happy with the end product. Therefore, any possible setbacks will be on the printing or shipping end of the process.
But rest assured, we have spent over three years and plenty of our own money on this already. We believe in what we are doing and will get No Worries Whales printed. With printing and shipping as planned, we aim to have your rewards to you in time for the holiday season. We will keep you informed if there are any hiccups in this process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
