Hello! Just an FYI, the above promo shoot is NOT the album cover. There is still much to get done! Thanks for checking out our page. Hope you have time to take a look at the amazing video that Jim Hartley and I worked on to get the word out about Christa Says Yay!
What we are doing here is trying to get our amazing debut album finished up, gussied up, and out to the people.
One day when I was fretting about how to get the money to actually do this project I got an email from some musicians I knew back in the day in Greeley. They were using this site called Kickstarter. I donated to Jumpsuit, saw how easy it was, and realized I needed to use a web based fundraising site too. My friends, family, and fans are all over the country...nay, THE WORLD! My project was accepted by Kickstarter way back in December 2010 and we are finally ready to get this party started!
I have managed thus far to pay for the recording, mixing, and pics due to the magical alignment of a few things. One of those magical things was finding the most wonderful people to play with. (See bio below the rewards column for more!) I will say that when you don't waste studio time it is easier on the pocket! Rey introduced me to his old pal Don Farwell and his new business Earwig Studio. Being the first band to start a full album there, we got an incredible deal. Then Austin graciously offered to record the rhythm guitar over-dubs and all lead guitar at his home in his Guest Room Studio. Rey also found us the reasonably priced RJB Photo who did the awesome promo shots we have in the video and online right now. Finally, the ultimate miracle in my universe worked it's mysterious ways when the program I work for was funded by the government and all the teachers in my room got two bonuses this year! Then I managed to actually get a tax return and there ya have it. That's how it was done, but it's not over yet! We are so close...
Yep. It's true I am asking you for money. BUT THERE ARE REWARDS! So, stay with me here folks. Anything will help, let me get you more info.
What do I need the money for?
~First there is mastering and I hear that paying for top notch mastering is the best way to go, makes a big difference and since everything on this album deserves the best and has gotten the best so far, I wanna do what is best.
~Second there is the designer who is doing the album artwork and layout since I have neither the software nor the training to do it myself. This can be expensive even if you get a deal, and if possible I would like him to do a logo for stickers too.
~We will be getting new pics in the fall to compliment the album design.
~Then there is the actual production of the cd at the manufacturer.
~Kickstarter and Amazon take a chunk as well.
~There are other little things that I would like to do as well to promote the band that cost money.
