Happy Friday to everyone! We have some incredible news that we wanted to share with you, the Community Dinner backers, first.
The Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF) has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Community Dinner!
A while ago, we applied for an Ingenuity Grant
From the Foundation's website: "Ingenuity Grants will encourage people
to get involved in their community as they plan and execute ingenious,
innovative, and/or creative projects that demonstrate significant
potential to enhance the quality of life for our citizens. In
particular, we encourage projects that generate increased charitable
giving in support of these ideas."
their letter to us awarding the grant, they stated, "The committee
believes your project demonstrates significant potential to enhance the
quality of life for our citizens." We are honored, humbled and grateful
for this recognition of what WE are doing.
has been an excellent platform for raising funds, but with a grant we
no longer need the Kickstarter/goal program (which is good news!). The grant money from the Pikes Peak Community Foundation will not be
"pledged" or otherwise indicated on Kickstarter. Because of this we
wanted to take two steps:
1. We would like to cancel the Kickstarter campaign. No credit cards have been charged, nor will be in the future.
2. We would like to redirect you to the Colorado Springs Community Alliance
(CSCA) website to make your donation. We sincerely hope that everyone who has pledged so far will make the transfer with us. The donation charge will be
immediate. The idea is that with Kickstarter, our dinner was a dream.
With Pikes Peak Community Foundation it is reality. Our dinner is ON!
Donations to CSCA website will be immediate so that we can both make
funds available to begin ordering/reserving what we need for
the dinner. Also, you will be able to track donations at the website.
There will be a similar gauge so that you can see what kind of
donations are being received.
We will also let you know what progress we make as well as ask for your opinions on what choices we are making for the dinner.
