This book is a collaboration between Edina Balczo (HU, author) and two other guitarists: Ron Celano (USA, editor) and Mark Wheeler (CAN, editor). The idea was conceived in February 2017, and the finished manuscript was produced collaboratively over the following 10 months, ending in December 2017.

Edina Balczo is an UK based guitarist who hosts a popular YouTube channel, The Spanish Guitar Hub, with 9 million views and 37,000 subscribers. She is endorsed by GuitarPro, the originator of the GuitarPro tablature editor software, and has performed in major festivals and events in the UK and internationally, including the Glastonbury festival, Sziget festival (HU), and at events for Green Peace, Google, the Commonwealth Nations Ceremony awards among others.
A wide variety of guitar instruction books are available which describe different styles of playing, music theory, soloing, jazz and improvisation, flamenco, fingerpicking and strumming techniques on steel string guitar. However, there are not many (or any) dedicated to Spanish guitar strumming techniques, so this book will be unique, revolutionary and a PIONEER of its kind!
Edina Balczo has been producing YouTube guitar lesson videos since 2007. Some of these videos have gone viral and have attracted world-wide attention among guitar students eager to learn the techniques she demonstrates. This book and the accompanying video lessons, which will include clear textual descriptions and professionally-produced video demonstrations of each technique, will be an invaluable resource for anyone interested in mastering the Spanish guitar style.

Preorder your copy of the Spanish Guitar Strumming Techniques now, so we can have a budget to release it worldwide, film the video lessons professionally and overall spread awareness of Spanish guitar music.
And now we need your help to make this project happen! We need to raise at least 5000 pounds so we can proceed with this project. We’ve done some research, and found it can be costly to self-publish a book. Here are some of the expenses we will face:
- Book printing: 500 Books £1600
- Studio hire to film the video lessons £1000
- Buying studio lights £200
- Hire a webdesigner to make a membership area on our website where the video lessons and GuitarPro files will be available. £700
- Postage and admin fees: £300
- Advertisements: £200
- Paying the work of the editors: £500
- Kickstarter also takes about 10%: £500
Risks and challenges
The book is already written, proofread, edited, and formatted. Although I will only start filming the video lessons (which will be a lot of additional work!) when the project is finished. This will be actually the most fun part of the challenge so I am looking forward!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
