For the world's smoothest shot...Separate, mix, bomb and twist with the Snapshotr.
The Snapshotr is an innovative and patent-pending dual-chamber shot glass that completely separates the shot and chaser. We set out to create a beautiful, high-quality vessel that allows professional mixologists, drink connoisseurs and social drinkers alike the ability to create truly revolutionary, never-before-possible shot combinations.
The Snapshotr isolates any two liquids vertically with its easy-to-use circular filter, giving users full control over when to open the filter and instantly follow a shot with a chaser, or mix the liquids to create a bomb shot. Simply twist the top or bottom of the glass to open or close the partition. No other glass can keep liquids completely separate like the Snapshotr.
We have been developing the Snapshotr for almost three years. When we began the project, we were both just 20 years old and shared a similar interest in product design. Our first Snapshotr prototype was made by hand using PVC pipe, Gorilla Glue and a Dremel. When it actually worked (to our surprise), we knew we wanted to carry this project to a more developed stage, and we began CNC'ing and 3D printing prototypes.
We have obsessed over every detail. Some tolerances of the Snapshotr are just a few microns, or fractions of the thickness of a human hair.

With the Snapshotr, anybody can become an expert mixologist and quickly create their own personal shot/chaser or shot/shot combination. The Snapshotr does not rely on the different viscosities/densities of the liquids to remain separated, such as in traditional shooter recipes. Rather, the easy-to-use filtering mechanism maintains the state of any liquid when paired with another. Hot can be separated from cold, sweet from sour, bubbly from flat. The possibilities are truly endless.

We have been dreaming of having a Kickstarter campaign of our own for nearly a year. While still in college, we did not think it was responsible to take pledges because we were not sure we would be able to dedicate the time necessary to run a successful campaign, fulfill orders properly, and be full-time students. We used our own money to get tooling started far in advance and now we need your help to conduct final analysis on tooling and to order enough material to bring Snapshotrs to an affordable price range.
During our long search to find a manufacturer, we started researching high quality plastics, which led us to Eastman Chemical Company. Eastman gave us a list of their top U.S. and foreign tooling manufacturers who know how to mold with Tritan™. Manufacturing the Snapshotr domestically was a priority for us, so we chose a highly esteemed U.S. based manufacturer. The Snapshotrs seen in the images and videos are sample production units from our mold. We will still strive to obtain even higher standards of quality control in terms of part clarity and part size consistency.
We have done our research, we have successfully created parts with our mold, we know our lead times, and we have fulfillment logistics nailed down.
We are confident that by mid-December 2014 we can successfully complete this project and begin shipping Snapshotrs to all of our Kickstarter backers.
