Instruments are tracked!

Posted by Ezekiel's Wheels Klezmer Band (Creator)

Hi Kickstarter backers!

We are officially done with tracking all instrumentals for our new album! Working with Michael and Jeremy at the NEC studio was a blast. We ran into Hankus Netsky on the street between takes, listened to some epic music - Fishalach by Prince Nazaroff, Banda de los Muertos, The Little Uniques (an absolutely terrible doo wop group from an NEC orientation concert… Ask Michael) – and stayed nice and cool despite the sweltering outdoors.

Now, Jon is off to Maine for fiddle camp, Nat is in Southern France for a wedding, Pete is holding down the trombone part for Ragtime at the Company Theatre, Abigale is getting ready for a trip to Yiddishland, and Kirsten is learning even more Yiddish because we’re going to finish vocal tracks with Michael after Yiddish New York! We’re still on track for release in March 2019 and getting excited for post-production.

Fun fact, Nat recorded on an RCA-44 mic that Dolly Parton and Freddy Hubbard had both used at Systems Two Studios in NYC. And it sounds PHENOMENAL.

Have a great summer, Kickstarter backers. We'll be in touch again soon!

---> Incidentally, if you want to hear us perform again before the album comes out, some of us will be playing a dance party on September 8th in Boston and we'll all be at the Burren Backroom in Somerville for a concert on October 11th. Hope to see you there!
