About this project
Amis et fans de France: Clinton Fearon et le Boogie Brown Band lancent une campagne participative pour présenter leur nouvel album Goodness en France de la plus belle des manières : tous ensemble.

It's happening. Goodness, the latest full-length release from venerated and internationally-recognized reggae legend Clinton Fearon, hits Europe this spring, followed by a release in the United States. The much-anticipated album is already creating a buzz with its timely message of love, hope and healing for the world in a time of crisis.
On behalf of Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Band, we would like to express our gratitude to you, our fans, for supporting us on the journey this far. We also want to extend to you a special invitation to join us in spreading Clinton's vision of hope and healing for the world. We need your support to bring this vision to its fullest possible realization. The more people we reach and the more people that get involved, the stronger the effect of the message.
As you read this, Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Band are gearing up for a European tour in support of Goodness, but it won't be full-strength without a little help from our friends. With your backing, we can hit Europe with our full lineup of talented and passionate musicians. Touring in Europe is a great opportunity for us to spread our message to a wider audience and we need your help to make the most powerful statement possible.
Also, fans of reggae music, this is your chance to step up and support something that is real and genuine. The music industry has gone through a major transformation in the past decade and it is now no longer viable for artists to survive without the support of their dedicated fans.
Communities need artists and artists need their communities. This is your chance, as our extended community, to support the music that you love and that makes our lives and the world a more humane and loving place to live in.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Alex George, bass player in the Boogie Brown Band, explains why supporting Goodness means so much.

Goodness, Clinton Fearon’s tenth album, will be released the 24th of March 2014 in France. The Goodness Tour will be from March 18th to April 7th, travel dates included. 3 weeks with 9 dates confirmed in France and Spain:
Fr 21st March @ Jam, Montpellier (FRANCE)
Sa 22nd @ Bab El Med, Marseille (FRANCE)
Su 23rd March @ Appolo 2, Barcelona (SPAIN)
We 26th March @ Café de la Danse, Paris (FRANCE)
Th 27th March @ Le 106, Rouen (FRANCE)
Fr 28th March @ La Clef, Saint-Germain (FRANCE)
Sa 29th March @ L’Embacadere, Montluçon (FRANCE)
Mo 31st March @ Connexion, Toulouse (FRANCE)
Fr 4th April @ Le Cap, Aulnay (FRANCE)
The tour dates have been confirmed, but we need your help to balance our budget. All together, the venues who are welcoming us are offering $25,000. We decided to co-produce three dates with local partners but there’s no guarantee that these will bring much more money in our basket.
On the other side, everything is costly when we are eleven on the road: Clinton Fearon and the seven musicians of the Boogie Brown Band, plus manager, tour manager and sound engineer. Our total expenses for the three-weeks tour are $55,000.Transportation takes the biggest portion: 40% of our budget will go to airfare and bus costs. Food and accommodation is another impressive share, eating 30% of the budget. Then we need to compensate our partners in France: booker, tour manager, sound engineer and graphic designer represent 22% of our expenses. The remaining 8% is almost equal to the backline we need to rent, with all the instruments and amplifiers we can’t fly with, and promotion, with posters to print and distribute.
Today we need a minimum of $30,000 to balance the budget of this tour. For every $10,000 raised with this campaign, 20% will go toward the covering the costs of rewards, 5% to Kickstarter and 3-5% to Amazon. This leaves roughly $7,000 to go towards the Goodness Tour. If we go over our goal, we will include a reasonable portion of the budget to pay Clinton Fearon, the musicians and our manager.
But what we need really is to promoteGoodness, the album, the music, the message. We need to produce more tools to spread the word: video, a new website, some merchandising… Today these are essential to support artists’ life but we do not have the capacity to make it all happen.
With your help, nothing can stop us!
Don't wait till tomorrow 'Cause tomorrow may be too late
Clinton Fearon, Goodness
Risks and challenges
Clinton Fearon is the producer of the album Goodness and the Goodness Tour. Your contributions are supporting a long time, independent artist with over forty years in the business.
The greatest risk for us is to leave some of our musicians here if we do not reach our goal. They recorded on Goodness so we can’t imagine presenting the album without them.
In May, we will release Goodness in the United States and we need to be able to do so, even with a minimum of publicity. We are hoping that the word to mouth is still working when Goodness is there!
Longer term, we intend to take “The Goodness Tour” to places where fans have been asking and waiting for a long time: California, New York, Argentina, Brazil, Kenya, Ivory Coast and many more places where we need to share this music with the people.
Thank you for being part of this movement for Goodness. We hope to see you all on the road!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
