About

Your CO2-neutral electricity production - with the small wind turbine "LITE ROT" against climate change

Today's global climate situation demands everybody to use more sustainable resources to meet our energy needs. Many innovations based on wind and solar energy have already been developed and realized in recent years.

In the meantime, unfortunately large wind turbines are already part of the public picture for supplying energy to townships and cities. However, these are built in windy areas and the electricity must be transported to consumers over long distances. In terms of environment this is not really the best solution. Plenty of power lines are necessary, land use and intervention in nature.
Why not producing electricity where it is really consumed. Best at your home. But how?

My project team and I have been brooded about this question for several years. A photovoltaic system makes sense, but you can produce electricity only in the daytime and when the sun is shining. Also think about that the weather extremes are increasing. Hot summers, but also windy autumn and winter days. And that's where you need electrical power.

This is where our “LITE ROT” micro-wind turbine comes into. CO2-neutral power production even at low wind speeds.

  • You already have a photovoltaic system, but want to produce your own electricity even in windy-bad weather? With the “LITE ROT” you increase your independence and can cover your electricity costs
  • You have a cottage in the countryside or a garden plot? With our “LITE ROT” in conjunction with a solar panel you can switch off your annoying emergency generator.
  • You have a building with a flat roof? No matter which direction the wind blows, our “LITE ROT” produces electricity.
  • Help the technical aid organizations and civil protection with providing electrical energy population in emergency cases. The “LITE ROT” systems are fast and easy assembled.
  • Help people in poorer countries to stay Independent by producing their own electrical energy e.g. for having light or for using their water pumps. The currently used emergency generators are not the solution under environmental aspects and have permanent running cost. By using the “LITE ROT” it is just a one-time investment.

But is a wind turbine really CO2-neutral, even if it is not made of sustainable materials? Not for us.

Due to many years of experience of the project members in different branches of industry, we have found combinations of materials not burden our environment. The keywords are renewable resources. We plan to build the frame out of wood and the blades should get their strength by using a compound made of hemp or coconut fibers. In addition innovative 3D printing nature-based materials are to be used, for example in the area of fasteners.
The goal is a “LITE ROT” with a base area of 2-2.5 sqm and a height of 2.0 m. The power is about 2KW.

The “LITE ROT” should be built either on house roofs or in the garden on stilts. Due to the design the running noise is low. With higher flow velocities  the operation of the “LITE ROT” is more efficient.

Are you also convinced that this will make a positive contribution to climate change possible? Then support us in the development of „LITE ROT“ systems.

Risks and challenges

The LITE ROT wind turbine is a vertically rotating turbine. In order to increase the efficiency significantly, the air resistance of the blade running against the airflow must be as low as possible. Here we fold the wing blade and thus reduce the attack surface. We have already patented this concept. It is important here that the planned materials also endure the loading of the folding mechanism permanently.
