Bixi connects via Bluetooth to a smartphone/ tablet/ computers. Using the Bixi App(IOS or Android) you can configure the Apps or connected devices you want to control. Each gesture matches a specific command on the connected device.

Bixi is based on next-generation Time-of-flight based optical sensors with milli-meter level precision.

You can control two devices or apps at the same time, switching from one to another with a simple gesture.

To take control of a new device/app, quickly reconfigure the Bixi app by picking a new device in the list. We have intentionally kept it to 2 and once users get used to bixi we can add option to switch among 3 devices.

We will also add the possibility to group devices together and put them in one of the 2 profiles switchable by bixi.

As an example, you can be on your bike with Bixi on ‘Music’ &’GoPro’ profiles and control your songs and your GoPro with only gestures.
Other such examples are:

3. Navigation assistance & Music (on bike)
4. Music & Opening Garage door (In car)”

Bixi is charged via a hidden micro-usb port hidden behind the removable outer ring. Bixi battery lasts around 1 month and more on a single charge lasting 1-2 hours.

Bixi is always in a sleep mode until you place your stable hand above it and make a gesture, which help to avoid undesired gestures even if you move your hand accidently across bixi.

Bixi works on Bluetooth Low Energy protocol and the Bixi App is also made to not load the phone performance or battery wise. You can easily leave the Bixi app running in the background and not notice any tangible change in battery life.

We have tested and seen Bixi control our phones with 25meters distance. With walls in between, it will be reduced. For an average apartment, Bixi should be able to cover the home.

Bixi is splashproof

Bixi is made from Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 which is shock/scratch resistant.

In terms of API availability, we would release it in early 2017. We are already working with some Android App makers and have made the connectivity b/w Bixi and their App.

We have an IFTTT channel that allows users to connect Bixi with their devices. You can control your own Internet of Things device with Bixi if that device has a presence on IFTTT.

We are working on our IFTTT channel and shortly it will be live.

Accidental hand moves across Bixi will not cause false gestures. We have taken care of it.. Bixi will activate itself only if sees a stable hand to start with

7 intuitive gestures to start with and then we will keep adding more like rotation gestures to enable/disable a group of devices together.

User defined gestures are not possible for the moment. We use machine learning algorithms to make sure that the available gestures are accurate. You can re-map existing gestures to the controls you want.

With Bixi, you can drive safely and control your Music, Calls, Navigation, SMS, Heads-Up Display App, etc. without even looking at your phone. It's not only safer but also a much smoother experience.

For example, once configured, you can swipe right to call home, double-tap in air to accept a call (Android only), wave down to play/pause music and single-tap to switch from one use case to another (like music to phone).

Our mission is to continually extend the number of apps and devices through natively integrating them with Bixi.

At the end of the campaign we'll open a special community page to let you propose a specific integration and upvote the ones that you prefer.

Bixi connects via Bluetooth low-energy to your phones/tablets & PCs. Control of wi-fi based objects like lights, gopro uses the Bixi-App running in background on your phone as a bridge.

The App is continuously listening but does not consume power due to the use of the latest Bluetooth Low Energy 4.1 protocol.
