Dark Lands is an epic battle runner game. Develop your hero to survive this battle by running as long as possible in survival mode, or enjoy a challenge in hand crafted levels in campaign mode.
Dark Lands is an addictive mix of an auto runner game with a dynamic combat system taking place in a fantasy horror world. Take your hero on an epic journey of defeating evil forces who corrupted the lands. Beat enemies like goblins, orcs, skeletons or monstrous trolls and ogres. Fight unique bosses like the fierce Minotaur or the deadly Evil Eye. Avoid dangerous traps and treacherous corrupted terrain! Show other players that you are the best warrior of them all!
Dark Lands initial version is a great success on Windows Phone! People love it! But we want more! We want to bring it to more platforms and improve the game rapidly and to bring out campaign mode and multiplayer racing challenge! We will of course continue to upgrade the Windows Phone version as well! We are came here to Kickstarter to ask for your support!

The game will consist of 3 modes that are closely connected, as progress from one mode can be used in the other. This lets you develop one hero for all modes!
The goal in this mode is to survive as long as possible. The hero runs through different environments and randomly generated surroundings full of traps and enemies made from hand designed presets. Each environment has an end-boss as a conclusion and is followed by more hero run levels, more hard enemies, traps and bosses. Do you have what it takes to show your friends you are the best survivor of them all? A more advanced hero with better gear will give you a better chance to survive longer. You can also solve quests to increase advancement.
Hand crafted levels will produce a challenge for everyone. Each level has a set of goals that need to be achieved. These goals are challenging and rewarding. Each world has a set of levels with final level that has a boss fight! We plan to bring you rewarding challenges and a unique gaming experience! This will be the core story and main adventure.
And here the fun begins! How about racing in Dark Lands against other players or your friends? Setting traps, attacking them or using special skills to slow them down? This will be ultimate race where the most fierce and deadly players win! We will introduce a ranking system and special buffs to increase your chance to win this real time online race! We are so excited about this mode!
The game is optimized for touch displays, but also we count on game pads and keyboards control. As the hero runs forward automatically and reacts to world with climbing, hanging, swinging, hitting, and other actions to come, you as the player need to control his actions and reactions.
Armour and Weapons
In the shop you can upgrade your hero by buying better weapons and armour. Each of these has different stats and prices, so choose carefully.
You can improve your hero’s quality by improving his own stats.
- Health - withstand more damage.
- Strength - deal more damage to enemies.
- Agility - attack faster - this will result in a faster defeat the of enemies!
- Power - get more energy for powers.
Powers are special hero skills that can be activated. Each use of power will use the hero’s stamina, so use these skills wisely.
We are designing enemies that are memorable and challenging. Each of these enemies also has a mini boss version that is much harder to beat than the basic version, but also much more rewarding.
The backbone of our game are epic bosses. Each of them brings different challenges and unique ways to fight them.
Find the tricks to defeat them and avoid their vicious special attacks!
The game has great variety of nasty traps. When these get triggered the game becomes a bloody mess! Be sure to avoid them. There are bear traps, ground spears, saws, rotating blades, falling trunks, smashing trunks, rolling boulders, darts, teleports and many more to come to make the game epic!
Our style is minimalistic, with focus on an atmospheric noir experience. Our main inspiration came from shadow theatre and then games like Another World, Limbo, Contre Jour, Outland and others. Artists like Frank Miller and his Sin City or 300 have also inspired us. That being said, we created own style, that we believe is unique and very appealing. What we want to achieve is even more than we are showing now. We will incorporate shaders and improve animations even more in the future.
The 2D skeletal animation system we use gives us opportunity to produce a wide range of animations without the memory cost of sprite animations. This way we can keep bringing more and more animations into the game where time is the only issue. The sky is the limit here and we plan to work on improving this system to bring much better animations in the future!
Our music is original from our own young talented composers. Be sure to use a headset when playing the game to enjoy it to it’s fullest. We will be composing more of it and as one of our rewards you can download the soundtrack. We really believe it is worth it! You can find two examples below.

Infinity mode is finished and has been published on the Windows Phone market with great success! As you can read in the reviews many people are happy with the game and we don’t want to stop there. We want to bring you a much, much better gaming experience. So here is overview of what is done:

The Mingle Games team consist of industry veterans who have worked on many successful titles for companies like Disney Mobile, Centauri Production or Lonely Sock. We bring our years of experience to this project. Here is core of our team:

Vladislav has been gamer his whole life. Playing since he was little boy, he developed passion for games and his dream was to make his own games. He fulfilled this dream and was working as a game engine developer for Disney Mobile and Centauri Production and as game programmer at the social mobile games start-up Lonely Sock.
He loves games, art, movies, books, mixed martial arts, nature, life itself and is blessed with a beautiful daughter and a loving wife.
Jiří was working as a game tool developer for Centauri Production for 4 years. He was also working as a senior .NET developer for Magicware s.r.o. for 2 years. He was playing and programming games on his first 8-bit computer ZX Spectrum when he was ten years old. Since that time he was fascinated with the world of gaming and creating games.
He also has a passion for books, mountains, sports and most importantly for his wife and daughter.
Pavel was fascinated by the world of animated movies and games from his very youth. From that time, he had the simple goal to become an artist and create these things. For Pavel, making games is an expression of himself. Pavel has a huge amount of experience in art, working for Disney Mobile for 5 years.
Pavel has a passion for fantasy and sci-fi books and movies and he is a huge rocker! He has his own rock band!

Since Rob was first introduced to computers, over 30 years ago, he has had an unrelenting drive to write computer games. He made many attempts throughout the early years and for awhile gave up on his dream in order to raise his family and work on a business career in computer programming. Not satisfied with that, and still being drawn to games, he decided to make one huge effort to move his life in that direction.
Rob simply loves to design and create… art, building projects, computer games… whatever as long as it uses his imagination and skills.
As we are a self funded and independent company and we don’t want to be bound by publishers rules where we can’t use our own creativity as freely as we want, we decided to ask for help from you! With a successful campaign we will be able to make a game we believe in and one that we as lifetime gamers want to play! This project will not be able to get as much time as we want if we will not get help from you. All this is a new experience for us and our first time crowdfunding campaign so we have no idea what to expect. We hope that you will see the potential and spirit in this project help make it possible to reach its full potential! So don’t hesitate and support us!
The game is a great success on Windows Phone, but as it was only core gameplay we usually offer the game free of aggressive in game purchasing. So income is not great and if we want to improve the game, we need your support!
We have prepared nice rewards for all our backers!
Our expenses go to our food, bills and support of our own families. We love what we do and we do it low cost, but we need to pay bills and time spent in development has to be supported by money. All money from this campaign will go to the development process, taxes and if possible to extra artists, programmers and general developers to make this game most epic it can be!
Notes on our stretch goals
- 10000 goal
Our initial goal for this step in the funding is to bring in a level based mode, with 4 basic worlds and 40 levels, 2 extra environments to the existing 2. We would then have 4 different environments and one extra boss. We are also adding the multiplayer mode. Implementation of Facebook is also needed, so that players can connect with their friends and play together. This part is also important to us, so we can deliver the rewards for our backers. At this point we require additional time and these funds to be able to finish everything to the highest possible standard. We have already completed a lot of work for the Windows Phone version and that is the reason why the initial funding goal is set so low. Port for Windows 8 will be done as well, though we want to keep porting for all possible hand devices as iOS, android, PS VITA, Wii U.
- 20000 goal
If we reach our initial funding goal, this is what is needed to bring the game to Steam, if we pass Greenlight voting, but PC and MAC version will be made anyway. All artwork will be revamped for big screens and the controls adjusted so it is playable without touch screens.Furthermore we will create 4 additional bosses, 4 enemies, 2 extra environments, more trap types and an extra 20 levels. This bringing us to 60 levels in total. We will add more shaders and effects to make game better looking on big screen!

The Game is free on mobile devices and survival mode with multiplayer will be free as well. Campaign mode will be a premium feature (paid for with an in app purchase) and this will be a free reward for all our backers!

The Game will be premium on Steam, PC, OS X, Wii U and PS VITA without any additional charges in app purchasing, so this reward will give you a free copy on any of these platforms!
As you collect crystals in the game to buy better armour and weapons or to improve character stats you will receive additional crystals to start you off with this reward!

A very rare opportunity to design an evil boss yourself! In cooperation with our designer, you will be able to make a boss from your own imagination, with coordination of gameplay by our designer and of course the boss must fit within the Dark Lands world (no alien spaceship, sorry ;-)).

Risks and challenges
After months of development and a successful run on Windows Phone, we believe we have overcome major obstacles in the games development, so the risks to not finish this project is minimum as it is working well in it’s current core game play form and it is greatly accepted by the Windows Phone community, earning us top rankings and great reviews.
The challenge is still there to keep development alive and to bring you an even better game experience. Without successful Kickstarter funding, it will be hard to bring the game’s potential to it’s maximum as our own funding is running low.
