stratus - a wristwatch with a customizable titanium face
Design your own watch face or select a design from our catalogue -- multiple colors of anodized titanium available
Update --> You now have the option to choose a second color for your watch face. You can select either raw titanium or bronze to highlight certain areas of you face design.
-- Our catalog designs will come with specific area(s) that can be selected for this second color option.
-- Only those who have pledged for the "Super Early Bird" "Early Bird" "Creator's Kit" and "2 Stratus" rewards will be able to design their own 2 color watch face.
-- The other reward packages are still able to design a 1 color watch face if they'd like, or choose a 2 color design from our catalog. This is a special thank you to our earliest backers and those most interested in designing their own watch.
Every stratus face is made from repurposed aerospace grade titanium. We clean and polish it back to it's former brilliance before we apply the face designs using a laser.
Above: Some of our available colours. Our standard available faces are: raw titanium, bronze, purple, dark blue, light blue, moonstone (pale greenish-yellow), gold, reddish-orange, and green. More information about color in rewards section further down this page.
** Create your own face design using our template. No experience? Don't worry. It's much easier than it looks, and we have helpful videos on our website (link below).
** OR ** you can select from a variety of designs we will be offering in our catalogue ( 50+).
Every oblako stratus comes with a springbar tool so you can interchange watch bands yourself.
The stratus body is made out of stainless steel and is water resistant to 50m. It's classical shape allows the watch to be dressed up or down depending on the design, band and face colour. The dimensions of the watch make it a good size for men, but it can also be worn comfortably as an oversized watch for women (dimensions in rewards section below).
The viewing window is made from sapphire crystal. This material allows for superior light transmission with the least amount of distortion. This compliments the unique properties of the titanium to produce a look unlike any other watch. Sapphire is also an incredibly hard material so you won't have to worry about scratches.

* Remember that as a backer you get to choose your own face colour and design.
Above: Every reward package includes a multi-tool with 2 heads. One is for changing straps (springbar tool), and the other is for resizing metal link bands (you can use this to adjust the standard stratus band to fit your wrist). This tool will allow you wear your stratus as soon as you receive it with any 22mm band you may have.
Instead of offering a few different bands that people could or could not like, we decided to include the multi-tool instead. This way you can find any 22mm band you'd like from various suppliers on the internet - ebay is a great place to start (good prices). Every watch does come with a matching stainless steel band that complements the watch body, with the exception of the "Stratus Lite" reward. If you don't like the standard band, the "Stratus Lite" reward is less money and comes without a band, but still includes the multi-tool.

We can consistently reproduce a colour from each large band on the spectrum shown above.
** Our standard available faces are as follows: raw titanium, bronze, purple, dark blue, light blue, moonstone (pale greenish-yellow), gold, reddish-orange, and green.
** We guarantee that our backers not designing their own face will have at least 50 different designs to choose from.
** We will be designing faces based on popular requests made through Facebook and Twitter during this campaign, so if you want to see something specific, get in touch with us! ----> Facebook Twitter
If you plan to design your own face you can begin whenever you'd like. We will be accepting designs starting at the end of this campaign.
** The template we use to design watch faces is available on our website, along with helpful videos and other resources.
If you have no computer design experience we highly recommend you pick the "Creators Kit" reward. This gives you the option of unlimited email correspondence with us up until production, as well as 2 test prints of your design(s) on titanium to see the result(s). If you choose the Creators Kit we will contact you via Kickstarter with a priority / private email you can use for any help you may need.
Use of Funds:
Like many product-based campaigns on Kickstarter, we need the money we raise in order to make minimum purchase orders on all the parts for these watches - movements, cases, titanium, certain chemicals, etc. Our funding goal has been carefully calculated to ensure we have enough money to make these minimum orders and deliver on our promises. If you have any questions regarding our campaign, please feel free to contact us.

Above: One of the first full prototype watches nicknamed "Cluster" - this watch best illustrates how detailed designs can be. The face was produced using our template and in-house laser. It's indicators are perfectly aligned and it tells time as well as any other watch that is mass produced.
Here is what we are capable of now:
- We have a verified supplier and negotiated a set price per unit for all the components we need. The supplier produces watches for other brands so they are also sourcing Japanese quartz movements (Hattori) for us at a competitive price.
- We anodize the titanium, apply designs to each face, and assemble the watches in-house. Currently we can produce between 50-70 watches a day. Therefore, If we received 500 orders it would take approximately 10 days to produce all the watches after receiving our parts.

Procurement of Parts:
We have already established relationships and vetted all the necessary suppliers for the various parts we need, and we have developed our prototypes using these suppliers. The delivery times for the components we need will be between 40 and 60 days. Once we have all the necessary materials, assembly will take days to weeks depending on how many backers we have.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
