JAPANESE and other Stretch Goals Added

Posted by Kyle Simons (Creator)

Okay everybody, we're closing in on the stretch goal for the book upgrade. Which is so awesome I can barely articulate it! I've been working hard to bring some cool stretch goals, new adventures and, that's right, both a HACK PACK which will detail my design process and how to hack the game for other languages AND, at 20k, a hack of the game for Japanese.

At $14000: Zack Gilbert, one of the hosts of Edgamer podcast and who recently had me on the show for an interview and to talk about Magicians has put together a really cool adventure card pack based on his wife's dormitory in college. The adventure will have students Investigate a haunted dormitory; I've already seen the cards, they're really awesome!

At $15,000: I'm going to put together and release what I'm calling a "Hack Pack" which will be a small booklet that will provide both designer notes and my thought process behind the game and pedagogy along with instructions for hacking any and all aspects of the game - for different settings, different languages, different themes, etc. It should be all you need to get some unofficial language hacks and whatever else you can dream up going.

At $17,000: William, Rudy and Alex of the Mom's Basement podcast has a card pack ready to go for you all which is called "The Annual Tournament" and is designed to both flesh out the setting and the school a bit more and to get a really cool story going with lots of magic, duels and all kinds of fun.

At $19,000: An adventure card pack entitled "The Finals" will be made available to all backers. The pitch? "School's almost out! It's time for the last-minute rush to complete your final project. Summer awaits - you just have to make it through this last week alive!" Giulia Barbano is a player of all sorts of games, a tabletop roleplaying games publisher, designer, and all-round enthusiast. She is the woman with the monkey wrench behind the Gaming As Women blog.

At $20,000: Andy Kitowski, the creator of story-games and the man who translated TENRA BANSHO ZERO, is going to both contribute a card pack which will include Japanese monsters and Korean myths as well as a partial hack of the game so that people who want to learn it for Japanese can delve in without waiting for the official Japanese book of Magicians to come out. I can't think of anyone better qualified and I'd really like to see it get done so let's make it happen!
