What is The Tragic Tales of Willow Lightwheel?
The Tragic Tales of Willow Lightwheel is a STEAMPUNK comic with elements of sci-fi and fantasy thrown in for good measure. It is a hi-concept adventure comic. It has a little bit of everything for everyone.
Whats the money for?
We are trying to raise $650 to cover the cost of getting the pitchbook for Tragic Tales printed.
There is a ton of art, sketches, and research that goes into making a comic. Instead of just storing all this stuff in a folder under the couch we thought it would be great to share it all with you fine folks.
Why are you making a comic?
Shawn and I only know how to do two things: Make comics and be that crazy guy on the street corner that talks to himself holding a sign about needing food and may or may not have a dog to tug at your heartstrings.
Oddly panhandling is better hours and better money than making comics to be honest, but we are still going to try to make comics anyways.
So...what is a Pitchbook?
A Pitchbook is exactly that...a pitch of our ideas and the comic we have created. It contains a six page prologue story that will give you a little backstory before issue one kicks off, it contains the script, notes, concepts and a ton of sketches and doodles. Our pledge total will determine the length of the book.
This is going to be used as a tool to show comic shops, prospective publishers and as a thank you to our fans. It is also a great way for us to build a fan base before issue one comes out. That way we can have a little steam going to a publisher if we can point to you fine folks an say these folks are already lined up to buy issue #1.
What cool pledge rewards do you have?
We have a bunch of fun pledges for everyone to get involved with.
A few of the fun ones:
- CLAYTON CRAIN ORIGINAL ART!!!!
- Two Buck Chuck
- Five Dollar Hollar!
- A Very Merry Thank You!
- Bar Fly
- Biggest Fan
Clayton Crain Poster: This is not the actual poster but a good idea of his work so you can be safe in pledging your hard earned cash for a very talented artist.
T-Shirts with the Tragic Tales Logo:
Check them all out. If you see a combination of things you would like but there isn't a pledge for that just message us and we can build one for you. If you wanted to get some of the original art and say a hardcover let us know and we can create a pledge just for you.
**All international orders outside the US must add additionnel funds for shipping. Please check to see the rates for your country an add accordingly. $10.35 seems to be the base price and goes up from there.
What if you raise more than $650?
The $650 bucks gets the book printed and pledge rewards made. Money above and beyond the $650 will allow us to:
- If we can get $4,000 we can make the pitchbook and Issue #1
- In the event we only get say $1,500 we will use the extra to make the pitchbook itself bigger and better.
If we raise just a few bucks more than our goal we will just get some stickers made....if we knock it out of the park we might be able to bump it up to 28 or 32 pages...but we can cross that bridge when it comes.
