Have a question?
Soooooo, 7-9 business days have gone and passed by a lot. How many units came with the first shipment? Shouldn't they be sent out already? There is less than 200 backers so I can't imagine 1 shipment wouldn't cover it all.
Yea, you would think he'd be excited to update on product arrival but...go figure!?!?!?
Ah yeah okay I understand now. Yeah it's kind of messed up, I get that this KS has awful communication in it. But you'd think that if the product was making its way finally, you'd be excited to tell the people who helped you make this a reality. Hoping we get something soon
The update was on Dec 1st but it said, " We have been told our expected date of shipment to the United States is December 20th." The ship date was the 20th. My mistyped in my reply. Plus 40 days would mean he received them somewhere around Jan 29th (not 19th). Still, long enough ago to provide an update.
I must be missing the latest update because in Kickstarter the last update was #13 on December 1st. I messaged Lee on his fb awhile ago and he got back to me far before another rupdate went out. I might do the same thing here again.
Actually, his last communication said that the expected ship date was Dec. 20th '17. So plus 40 days from that date gets us to Jan. 19th 2018. We're now a month past the date when he was scheduled to receive them. Don't know what's going on other than to think we're not getting fulfilled as a priority for some reason.
@Lee Morgan So shipments by boat take about 40ish days. Last update was on Dec. 1st was saying they were loading up soon. It has now been 76 days later. What is going on?
I think backer fulfillment has fallen below retail funds recovery. If he's taken a loan to get this done he's probably more interested in paying the loan back and getting his head above water before he thinks about backer fulfillment. He probably needs the money first...then after he's ahead of the game he'll worry about backer fulfillment. Just a guess...
Feels like this is not going to happen. Let’s get a communication here? Struggle to understand why if things are still happening things are so quiet.
Last updated said your shipment was scheduled to arrive on December 20th. It's now January 13th and no update. I know for a fact that if you have an expected delivery date you have a window of about a week or so after. It's been over 3 weeks since then. What is going on?
When will these be shipping?
Please do a better job with updates.
Just wanted to check in on here. Your last update suggested that your first 4000 units would be in Pittsburgh by late October.
I was really looking forward to this. I think I am going to work to create my own version. Thanks for the updates Lee Morgan, you should be ashamed of yourself not even to drop an update once in a while.
This really sucks !
Updates Terrible - you should have received shipment
My address has changed
I guess we did.
Did we get burned????!!!!!!
Hallo? I second asking for an update. I really want to love this.
We're nearing the beginning of August. An update would be most welcome. Thanks.
With summer coming to an end soon, is there any update?
Thanks for the update Lee, however, they should be more frequent IMO. And although Bruce Nemec might have ulterior motives in his posts he is a backer and he does express some frustration your other backers are feeling with such infrequent updates and realized design and production mistakes. I mean come on, the last update was two months ago. The product was clearly not as developed as was represented in the campaign which...and I quote..."The risks and challenges of developing our project are extremely low. All of that hard work is done; our designs are finalized, packaging created, website built, patents filed and most importantly our cocktails have been created by one of America’s leading mixologists!" Was any of this true?
I would imagine you've burned through the $21k from the kickstarter funds with all the reworking and design mistakes so I'm curious what your financial situation looks like. Most new products die on the vine due to funding issues. With the obvious slow down in progress I can only conclude you're out of money and continuing to move forward part-time by putting in your own money from your real job so as to move it along, albeit, slowly.
I know all you can do at this point is to continue working on it but it is frustrating for us who invested in this idea and get such rare updates. Usually we backers are very forgiving in new product development but only if we're kept in the loop. Usually, in my experience, when a kickstarter fails at timely updates there's serious issues with the project. I suspect you're giving us the full picture on what is really happening with this project.
With that said, I do believe in the product and I think it's a great idea. I just hope you can overcome the challenges and get this to market, let alone to your KS backers. Keep us informed please!
@Lee, bringing a new product to life is always a lot more challenging than people think. Please keep plugging away! I look forward to receiving EZ Drinks upon completion. In the meantime, more frequent updates would be appreciated. Thank you!
I just want my money back. This isn't worth the extraordinary wait and endless excuses.
We have all stayed tuned for updates based on your last update 2 months ago, but you have failed to provide the most basic item to all of these fine people who backed your project with their hard earned money only to get silence as a reward for that support. I will base my post on your last update and hit the high points.
Your Kickstarter campaign was only successful (in terms of funding) because all of us made pledges with the expectation and your promise of regular updates and receiving the product in a timely manner. Clearly the agreement you noted with "a well-established tool maker with a fantastic track record with consumer products" does not appear to be going very well and the track record is suspect at best.
Bringing down your tooling and part costs by 70 and 60% does not matter to those of us who backed the project because it has no effect on what we pledged or are expecting to receive in return for those pledges. We don't benefit from these purported reductions in cost and in my vast experience with Asian suppliers you get what you pay for, and many times you get less.
Being introduced to a "well-known consumer product distribution team based in New York City" does nothing for the backers either. Just because someone tells you they "would like" to put the product in 50 test Target store locations as soon as possible, is a far cry from actually accomplishing that. Maybe they will and maybe they wont but how would any of us know anyway because you fail to update us as you promised. I would "like to have" a winning lottery ticket but that doesn't mean I am going to get one.
Stay tuned! everyone
And maybe we will actually get an update and better yet, one that is accurate, informative and actually provides a delivery date for the product that all of us paid to receive.
BTW, I have posted reasonable comments and requests here, emailed you directly and called but have not received ANY replies, as I am sure none of the other backers have either. If anyone would like to contact me directly about this program please feel free to email me at
Respectfully submitted (once again)
So I assume tooling is complete, production has begun, and you have a better idea of timing now. Presumably production of initial orders will take 30 days or less, shipping and customs another 2-6 weeks, and delivery another week or two. Can you give a ballpark of when we should now expect receipt? Any chance vefor July 4? August 1? LD?
+1 What Bruce has stated. Backers usually understand expected delays, but lack of promised communications is unacceptable.
I think that all backers including myself would appreciate an update on the progress of this project and delivery of the product that we have all providing backing for. It has now been more than 7 weeks since the last update was posted and you had committed to updating everyone on a more frequent basis. Please let us know today on the current status of the program and delivery. Thank you
Listen to Bruce- wtf
On behalf of all backers
The CNY holiday ended 4 weeks ago! More frequent updates for all backers would be appreciated as I can sense some angst among those posting and rightfully so as we have all been waiting for product that is already past due on delivery and we aren't receiving the promised updates on the timeline that the campaign creator conveyed quite awhile back.
The reality is that if the tooling is just starting now (versus 4 weeks ago) it will take at least 40 days (that should be calendar days and not business days which is normal China quoting) to complete and mold initial T1 samples for review. If there are any issues (which there almost always are) it can take on a couple more weeks of sampling, shipping samples for approval. The tools will then have finished polishing applied which can add another week and figuring out the application of graphics applied to the rulers and testing this to insure it is dishwasher safe and doesn't dissolve or degrade in alcohol will take more time before production quality units can be shipped.
Then to understand that the units will be coming from China it could take 3-5 days via air freight to get to the campaign creator (expensive) or another 30 days via ocean freight plus about 5 days stuck in customs. So depending on the chosen cost versus speed method it could tack on about a month for delivery to the EZ Drinks location and then whatever time it takes to package them and ship out to all of the backers.
I am posting this as a backer of this project to provide a more informed and detailed timeline for those of us anxiously awaiting product and so that you aren't expecting the products to show up in 40 days. It will mostly like be more than 80-90 days from tooling start date for actual receipt of the product and I know this because it is what I do every day and its important that backers know what to expect and the latest update was a bit light on actual details for a realistic timeline expectation. Hopefully EZ Drinks can improve on these timelines for all supporters of the project but time will tell.
Come on guys a quick update won't take any of your time. Please
From the last update on Jan 17: "When the Chinese New Year ends we will have a much better timing on the initial production run."
The 2-week holiday should have ended last week. Can we please get some news as to where things stand at this point. Thanks in advance!
From the last update on October 25th..." Now that we have a clearer path to final production we will be updating once every 3 weeks. We will share photos of tooling creation along with production and graphics when able."
New update coming soon?
Are the EZ-Drink pitchers still on schedule to ship in November?
It would be great it have this on hand for Holiday parties in December, hopefully we can get it by Christmas.
Hey Carlos, we will be giving our first update since the campaign ended on Friday. Most of the work that is being done now is all logistics for tooling and manufacturing location US v Asia
Hello, any one there?
Lee, can you share the latest info in an update?
Carlos, good morning. We are currently working with out product team to finish tooling and then begin the process of fulfillment. We will be providing some more updates in the coming week as we get firmer dates for all timing. It has taken a little longer to respond since we did not have firm dates with our suppliers. I am planning on posting a large update sometime next week with a number of things happening with EZ-Drinks. Have a great weekend.
Lee, Any updates?
Best wishes for great success.
Gratz on successfully funding!!! Woot!!!
Just backed the project as I know this will be a big hit. Cant wait to get the party started!!! Also shared on Facebook for all of our camping friends (who drink allot) to back the project as well.
Hey @Kristen shipping in the US is $11. The box we are shipping is considered "large" by USPS even though it is only 15"x10"x5" and weighs only 2.5lbs We are shocked on a daily basis by the cost to ship something in the US and the costs associated with for those who are outside the US.
I beg your pardon if I have missed it, but what is the shipping to US addresses?
