Giant Fancy Cat is an animated short length comedy geared to an adult audience, in the vain of Adventure Time and Clerks.
The story takes place in a potion shop in a magical castle, which exists in a dimension between dimensions, where anything is possible and magic is more common than not.
Through his laziness and lack of magical powers, Calvin, a blowhard handyman, entangles himself in zany misadventures with his potion shop cohorts, Helen the witch and Stony the crackpot wizard.
When a ravenous green hair monster invades the shop and all magic is rendered useless, Calvin must resort to his own brand of MacGyver-like tactics to save the day.
Originally this project was slated to be a trailer to be used to pitch the idea to a network. However after writing the pilot script, we became so excited about the idea, we decided to produce the entire five minute episode. As the project grew in scope, so did the time and monies necessary to complete it, so we've turned to Kickstarter.
We have made a lot of progress in the past few months. We've written the script, recorded voice actors, completed the storyboards, and are approximately one-third into animation. At our current rate of ten seconds of animation a day we are looking to finish our first episode by summer.
Our goal is to produce a short animated pilot episode, combing 2-D and stop motion animation. With your help we'll finish this project and pitch the pilot to a TV network with the aim to produce a series. We'll also release the pilot episode online as a webisode.
Also, we've worked out some rewards that we think are pretty neat. Below are some of the items available:
We also have stickers, personalized letters, posters, animation cells, picture books and a bunch of cool items we think you'll appreciate.

Risks and challenges
Both 2-D and stop motion animation require different working methods, both slow and tedious. At its completion our project will be nearly 3,000 hand-drawn frames, which will be cleaned, colored, timed and set to motion. We are approximately 1,000 frames into animation. In the stop motion process we are combining complete animation with live action photography.
We've assembled a crew of talented artists from various backgrounds, including film and animation, who understand the challenges involved. Our experience in these mediums has prepared us to complete this project, but we need the confidence of like-minded individuals, such as yourselves, who believe in our project and are willing to assist us to completion through Kickstarter.
We're one-third of the way done, and with your donation this project will come to life! From our entire team, thank you for taking the time to check us out.
