STRETCH GOAL ADDED!
The goal is in view, but I don't just want to meet it, I want to break it! So, I've created an incentive for all you lovely supporters - Coloring Pages. All backers will get them, without spending another dime! But, we need your help to get to our goal, and then beyond. Please Share!
This is a Kickstarter to fund the printing of Book One of the Graphic Novel Root & Branch! Go read the comic HERE
Last January, I began working in earnest to complete a finished comic. A labor of love which I have always envisioned. By the end of 2015, I had a 116 page story and a lot of knowledge gained. The tale is continuing further and I expect further adventures for many years to come.
Root & Branch launched in March of 2015, and has grown steadily in readership ever since. We started out releasing two pages a week, and by August we were able to go up to three! We've loved the responses we've received - and the critiques, and are ready to print the first book.
We are ready to print the first book, a year's worth of work, and the first section of the story! It introduces one of the main characters, the world she is exploring, and hints at her greater purpose. It's 116 pages in full color, hand drawn, inked, and painted, with five chapter covers that have never been seen before! We'll be printing it in large format, at close to 8"x10"!
Possible stretch goals may include adding into the book background information on the world, mini comics, special covers, and other additional artworks!
We need your support to print this! Sure, I could go get 10 copies printed off to sell at conventions. But, getting a big printing will allow us to have a more quality product professionally made, and to get the discount of bulk printing in order to offer a lower price on the finished book. This is going to be a BIG book, with good weight and shiny pages, I promise it will be worth it!
Pink Pitcher is the writer and artist. She does the pencils, inking, watercolors, and writes the dialog.
Greg Harris does digital retouching and lettering.
We both want to see our work in print, we both want to get paid. THANKS!
Risks and challenges
Our risks are very minimal. The entire comic is already made! You can go read it at http://rootandbranchcomic.com/ and decide if you like it. We are already working to letter up to page 116, and to process into a format for printing. Only the book cover remains to be painted, and I expect to complete that before the kickstarter ends.
There are possibilities for delay. Printing issues may press back the shipping date, shipping problems may back up the arrival of the book into your hands. However, these are easily managed, and we expect all books and prints to be delivered before Midsummer 2016.
Backers who are being added as characters may need to wait a while before appearing, but I will be updating these backers regularily as the story progresses.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
