You Want Speakers? We Got Speakers!

First off, another big thanks to all you backers and everyone who has been spreading the word. Keep it up!

So we seem to have lost a bit of the momentum, but that’s to be expected. We can’t get a RT from Neil Gaiman every day. Or can we...? No, probably not.

Anyway, for those who missed update #1 (it was Backer-only), we’ve added 2 new levels of Comic Starter Kits ($80, $115) due to the overwhelming success of the $30 level, which almost half of our backers selected.

In other news lots of great writers, comic creators, and other “celebs” have shared the link and gotten the word out, some of them are even backing the actual project! This is all good news and should help the project get traction.

And if you thought you wanted it to happen up until now, wait’ll you get a load of this: Lev Grossman, best-selling author and Time magazine book critic has offered to be part of our inaugural lecture series. The details still need to be hammered out: when, the exact topic, if the live-stream will be only free to members or backers or to everyone but the simple fact is that this is only the beginning! There are a lot more tentative speakers lined up and a whole slew of classes that simply will not be able to happen (well, for a few years, anyway) if we have to open the shop the traditional way.

So, if you have any ideas, let me know. If you know of anyone who might be interested in this, let them know. If you have access to some giant conglomerate’s media arm, let the world know.

Right, we’ve still got a long way to go on this and lots of money to raise. Once more unto the breach, my friends!

Well, Twitter is great but not many of us have the kind of following of Ashton Kutcher or Neil Gaiman... The best thing to do is spread the word to people who know and trust you- end them emails, post on a message board that you're a regular at, tell your Local Comic Shop. All these things will make the world more aware of the projects.

Thanks so much for your support and interest.

what can we do to make more people aware of this great idea? Just to get the momentum going again? I keep tweeting about it.
