The vision - Creating spaces
Art See Ocean Gallery is a newly opened artist in residence in the heart of Sweden, run by artists Stefan and Theresa Lekberg. Art See Ocean Gallery is located in the most beautiful nature reserve, where the forest meet the sea.Stefan Lekberg is a abstract painter and since he moved into the old farm six years ago he transformed it into a exclusive gallery.
We spent the past three years in our own creative process and now we are building up studios and living spaces for artist residencies and want to share the beauty of this place with the rest of the world and fellow creators, the public and creative community. Please help us to complete the creation of our dream - Art See Ocean Gallery! As Stefan says, "Beauty is the hardest to take in, you have to prepare it its own space," and so we offer you a retreat, a place in nature and solitude.
The Houses- Currently, the residence can accommodate two residents, but we plan to expand space to accommodate six.
The Studios- We currently have one studio in the big house. Three larger studios in total 100 sq. meters, are currently under construction in the barn, including a kitchenette and facilities. We would like to offer these to artists as soon as possible!
Any and all help provided will go towards: Construction materials for completion of the barn studios and a small studio in the garden Insulation in the homes for artist accommodations.

- The plan is to turn the big barn into three studio spaces with a kitchen, bathroom and resting area, for our artists in residence by the end of December this year.
- The big house will work as living space for arriving guests and has a functioning studio.
- The small house will be living space for residents and is complete yet has a big top floor that needs painting, winter isolation and heating to work as a bedroom and studio space in wintertime.
- We will also build a small house, a office space, and we are planning to be done with it spring 2018.
We need to cover costs of
- labor - 13000 USD
- material - 18000 USD
- transportation - 1000 USD
- wood stoves - 1600 USD
- furniture - 1400 USD
- Kickstarter fees - 10 %
The minimum sum of these costs are: 39 000 USD
We are not funded by any institution, as independent artists we know how important it is to keep the artistic freedom without restrictions and allow our guest artist the natural rythm of their creative process, exploring, failing and succeeding in their journey.
All the money we raise in this community will go directly to the nonprofit organisation of the residence and benefit the artists coming here. We know the financial situations that artists can be struggling with and want to provide a tranquil space in nature for creative process at a low cost.
All the funding above our 39000 USD goal will go directly to granting artists a residence stay with accommodation, studio space and art material.
We have special offers for our backers, who help the vision come alive!
Mountain of Gratitude. We will stand on top of the mountain and shout out thank yous so the whole world will hear it.

"Stefan Lekberg is an abstract painter. He has been a artist for more than twenty years and is the founder of "Artsoup", Konstsoppan. Konstsoppan is a natrual interaktion with people, art and culture. For nine years Stefan welcome the public, together with musicians, poets and other artists, into his home and gallery in Gröndal in Stockholm and Art See Ocean gallery.
As an artist he is ground breaking, not bound by concepts or conforming to convention. He is free. His art is inviting us to the dance of life and death. Facing a Lekberg piece is like facing our inner world, shaking to the ground of what is. It is very intimate. Stefan uses acryl and mixed media such as ash and gold leafs. He paints intuitive, the work is unfolding, never repeating, he lets the art play in its own language. Stefan himself is exploring and experiencing the arts life as much as the audience."
"Theresa Lekberg uses energy, movement and stillness as portals to her work. She is exploring human nature and her own inner landscapes, unfolding and revealing to the viewer the human creatures different layers. Wether it is in painting, writing, photography or in film her expression touches the mysteries and play of existential questions."
Thank you for backing our projects and supporting other artists around the world!

Risks and challenges
Stefan has worked for twenty years as an artist and for nine years he was the producer of art soup, a collaboration of artists, musicians, poets, can be viewed at Art see ocean.com under `konstsoppan`. Stefan built up this beautiful place, he knows well how long it takes and how much effort needed. All finances will go to the build up of the residence and benefit the artists coming here.
There are always a risk with delays when building, this will slow down the process but we will continue to push forward anyway.
The studio spaces in the barn will be complete in December for arriving artists in residence.
The isolation and living space in the small house will take longer to finish, but we will update the process for you till its done in the springtime.
Building the small house, we have a good deal with a carpenter who will start the project when funded.
As for shipping we estimated good time for packaging to delivery.
We will do our best for you to have your rewards in time.
