About this project
Nymbol and Troupe are ready for a Webseries and then on to Television! We need the best camera work, editing and sound mixing in order to create a professionally produced pilot and future content for Nymbol's Secret Garden.
Nymbol invites you into his home and gives you a view into his World. Talented and unusual guests from the Human World have tea and chat with Nymbol. They will play music, sing, dance and tell stories of how they became who they are. Nymbol and his friends perform skits, sing, tell illustrated stories, and create mischief in a variety of situations. You will have a chance to follow Nymbol and the troupe as they attend faires, unique events or just wander around making new friends. Nymbol's magical friends include Blarney (a kilt wearing, mixed lineage Elf), Nymphaea (a Water Nixie with an enchanting voice and taciturn personality), Serriffina (a newly appointed Faerie Goddess Mum with a unique past), Bloobie, (a shape shifter, currently a blue legged bloobie), Z.W.(a Mongolian snowbeast), Owleena, (a star child from another planet), Gryph (an adolescent gryphon), and more! Where the Money Goes
The majority of the money raised will be to pay Stone Knot Studios for their wonderful camera, sound and editing work. We very much need them to bring us to the next level as professional entertainers. If there is anything left we would like to create a couple magical stage pieces and props. It is just the beginning of our master plan for world wide freaky fun creature comedy dominance.
Nymbol's Troupe: A Family Performing Together
Bill Cass is the creative hand “behind” Nymbol. His journey with Nymbol all began one Halloween. He poured all of his loves, ...... design, leatherwork, drawing, painting and telling stories to his kids into this little puppet. The simple idea was to have him hand out candy to the Trick O’Treaters but it turned into so much more. Lightning struck when he placed those mysterious green eyes into the leather sockets. Nymbol sprang to life in both movement and voice. In that instant, life for Bill changed forever. Nymbol prodded him to leave the comforts of the corporate design world, to find his voice on stage (for the first time EVER), sing and form a troupe (birthing more friends for Nymbol to hang out with). Looking through Nymbol’s eyes and into his world has allowed Bill to push into other creative Realms. The best part of the whole adventure is that he gets to do it with his talented family. Co-creating and performing with his wife, singing with his children and watching as they grow and become more confident in their own abilities has made Nymbol the gift of a lifetime. Something they will never forget.
Before Nymbol: Bill has designed footwear for 24 years. This includes 14 years designing for a very large sporting goods company watched over by the Goddess of Victory. At the time he considered it the best job in the world. His first true love is illustrating for magazines and books, Oh, and bicycle racing most of his life. Now, father of two amazing daughters and an ever expanding brood of magical creatures to share with the world.
Sam Cass (Serriffina) has always been true to her own vision. Whether it is creating elaborate costumes, graphic design, puppet design, sacred objects, theater, singing, dancing, writing, directing or co-creating with her husband (and all that that implies), she brings her unique perspective to it. Thanks to Serriffina, Sam is able to combine all of her talents to become a Faerie Goddess Mum (FGM) and muse to others. She is a proud Momma of two beautiful daughters brimming with talents of their own. Performing and puppeteering with her family in the Nymbol troupe is a long awaited Faerie dream come true.
Tabatha Cass at the age of 13 has a voice of a Siren. She writes poetry, lyrics and music, is a creature wrangler (Nymphaea) and plays a sassy pirate lass on stage. Tabatha sketched Nymphaea and helped with her hair, costume and creating her persnickety personality. Her strengths? Of course she is the cleverest with pen, bow and sword. Besides lighting up the stage with her singing and acting, Tabatha enjoys playing music, dancing, circus arts (especially aerial hoop), designing and creating costumes, sewing, and oil painting in the Gothic style. Traveling with the Gypsy Wagon Puppet stage to festivals is her favorite kind of adventure.
Isadora Cass at the not so tender age of 11 is the heart and soul of Blarney. She had a very clear vision of him, drawing and helping Bill design his form. Izzy brings her own brand of Blarney humor to the Nymbol Troupe. She keeps the audience enthralled (and her parents on their toes) while they wait to hear what he says next. We all agree, Blarney steals the show. Izzy’s favorite activities include drawing, horseback riding, playing with critters and animation. She is unbelievably talented as a singer and character actress on stage. Her visions and drawing ability are far beyond her years. Izzy's greatest joy is coming up with a one liner that doubles the troupe over with laughter. (including the camera man). Blarney on Nymbol's Blooper reel is her favorite.
Rob Marsanyi is our Musical Director Extraordinaire. He plays far too many instruments to list here. Mix 1 part Peter Pan, 1 part Mozart, a healthy dose of dissident jazz, sprinkle in a Kiwi sense of humor and there you have Robert in a bottle. His lifelong quest is in the magical discovery of making uniquely beautiful sounds and having a hell of a good time along the way. Occassionally he can be seen chasing a proper football around the pitch with a bunch of youngsters.
Caven Keith is the owner of Stone Knot Studios. His camera, lighting, sound and video work are a vital part of Nymbol’s World. Caven is a true Renaissance Man. He has experience in many realms including hollywood, television, documentary film, and Renaissance Faires. His background is in music performance and composition. We have big plans for him to play bagpipes, drum and whistle while Nymbol runs the camera. Caven is a soul brother to Nymbol. He truly understands his bogarty ways. Caven's unruffled attitude under pressure and equal enthusiasm for potty humor makes him a perfect member of the Nymbol troupe.
NOTE From Bill
Every 5 year old on the planet knows a well timed "fart" joke is funny. Potty humor is funny. Seeing something that questions your own beliefs can be funny. Nymbol and the troupe know this well but many adults have forgotten. They can be too serious, too easily offended, and too quick to explain to their children that Nymbol is a puppet. "What is a puppet?" he always asks. We may risk offending some adults with our childlike humor but we will never let anyone think that Nymbol and his troupe are anything but living spirits. When we perform we see this veil lift and nothing grabs our heartstrings more than when a little being walks away holding her mom's hand and says,.... "I think Nymbol is alive!" It has happened more times than I can count but I already believe what they are thinking. Through our own creativity we have welcomed a wonderful little spirit in the form of Nymbol into our lives. We have all been changed forever because of it. It is Magic. I can feel it, I can see it, I know it in my heart. Our challenge is to capture even a moment of that on film so you can become part of it. Within 10 minutes of arriving at our doorstep Nymbol asked me to question E V E R Y T H I N G. What began as a gift for my children has given our family memories for a lifetime. There is no risk. We already do this because we love it. The challenge is to capture that moment on film with the proper light and sound so you can forget about those things and focus on the Magic. We have created so much already but Nymbol has many more new friends to make, adventures to go on and farts to share. We hope you'll be part of this one particular adventure with us.
We have big plans. Make it and they will come, laugh and be inspired. Nymbol has many secrets to share. These goals will allow us to do that.

Risks and challenges
There are always risks when undertaking a creative project of this magnitude. The video shoot and editing is expensive and time consuming. Special guests availability and scheduling may not work out. Musicians have lives beyond standing around a few silly magical creatures and their dance card is usually pretty full. When it all comes together it is a pretty wonderful thing.
As this goes live some of the rewards still need to be completed. There is a real possibility shipping the rewards could be delayed being the month of December. Balancing our Nymbol Video Pilot, freelance design work (that pays our bills) and family certainly is a work in progress.
Our biggest challenge is reserving time with our film crew. When Caven and crew (StoneKnotStudios) first moved to the island he was looking for fun things to do. They donated lots of time and energy with us. Now that they are more established, trying to squeeze us in is a much bigger effort. Especially given the whole, “I’ve gotta support the family” thing many of us know oh so well. They have been exceptionally generous friends. I do not want to take them for granted and we value the time and expertise given to this project already.
Yes, we know how to be flexible and have plan B, C and D for special guests lined up.Trying to explain to a potential special guest, you don’t really know well, they are going to be interviewed by Nymbol can be very interesting. We are experienced with long days of video shooting. We will do our best to get the rewards shipped out early December. Fortunately, we have balanced other Nymbol projects with everyday challenges for three years now. We as a family, feel it is a lifestyle and a dream worth pursuing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
