It's not just a motion picture, it's a movement.
Even though we have wrapped up this successful first phase of our funding initiative to produce Citizens United, The Movie, there is still time for you to support and stand with us by visiting the site for the movie itself.
There you can get basically the same rewards which were offered here, and follow all the latest developments as we jump into full production, read excerpts from the script, watch more video previews and more!
Right now there are joint resolutions in both chambers of Congress to launch a Constitutional amendment to clarify that corporations are NOT the natural people our founding document refers to. Citizens United, The Movie, will dramatize this and much more.
And here is the latest exciting addition to our movie related rewards, our brand new $$$ Is Not Equal To Speech bumper:
What we are asking you to do is to help us finance our first day of live shooting, and expenses related to completion of all the scenes for that shoot, in which we know from practical and proven hands on experience we can accomplish the following:
1) Shoot Scene 1, a hypothetical conversation between James Madison and Alexander Hamilton (faithfully based on their own writings and speeches) where they debate the propriety of chartering a national bank, and the appropriate limits on corporate entities in general. For this we will need to rent authentic period costumes and recreate a true to life 18th century private home library background. And with the same actor we'll record the James Madison voiceover for the opening sequence (please watch video above).
You can read the whole scene as conceived at the link above.
2) Shoot Scene 14, where Supreme Court justices Stevens and Kennedy debate the Citizens United decision, while founding fathers Madison and Hamilton stand off to the side ghostlike commenting on how badly their own words are being twisted. For this scene we will need to recreate true to life backgrounds of the robing room of the Supreme Court, for which no pictures exist that can be licensed.
3) Shoot all the scenes in the movie of TV commentators doing news broadcasts and Sunday talk shows corresponding to action in the movie, plus other narration parts.
Your valiant support will result directly in the final completion of all these scenes, and with these to show in hand, we have every confidence that we can raise the funds to proceed with the rest of the production. We just finished final post production of our first full length feature, dramatic film, The Last War Crime (one of our rewards options). It is ready for release in real theaters now and you can watch a trailer at
In this trailer you can also see some of the extraordinarily realistic green screen compositing we are capable of. Check out the recreations of the offices of Dick Cheney and Alberto Gonzales in the trailer.
For you to want to support a project like this one, isn't the most important thing whether the producers can demonstrate that they consistently produce quality finished work that you like? And here you have the added bonus of joining in the mass movement of our time to take back our Constitution for the people.
We have a history of final completion of every project we take on, including among others a radio play for peace, It's Up To Us Alone (another one of our rewards options), featuring an extraordinary performance by Ed Asner. Your support of the first phase of this project will in effect guarantee that we will complete the full, final version of this one as well, one way or another. Of course, if we greatly exceed our very modest initial goal, we can jump into full blown production immediately.
Risks and challenges
We don't believe in obstacles. We believe in problem solving and solutions. The one sure obstacle they will TRY to put in our way is political censorship. We are already pursuing a major lawsuit in federal court, asking for relief from the censorship of our attempts to buy ads to promote our first movie, The Last War Crime. In short, we don't throw in towels, we fight back.
But none of that matters if YOU will tell all your friends and help us to get the word out about our policy activist media projects.
This film, like our first one, The Last War Crime, WILL be made, finished at very high quality level, and WILL be made available for you to see in some form, format or venue. We will continue to speak the truth and we thank you for your valiant support.
And of course each and every one of our policy activist physical reward items is in stock now and ready to ship, with the sole exception of our brand new $$$ ≠ Speech bumper sticker, going to press shortly. It's what we do.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
