We have BIG shoot days planned for August 10th and August 11th!
Meanwhile, today we are showing off our now nearly complete founding fathers scene at the beginning of the new full length feature dramatic film now in full production mode, Citizens United, The Movie, taking on the issues of corporations as people, money as speech, and more! In this scene, James Madison voices his troubled concern about corporations seizing political power reserved for the People.
Last time we showed it we were just starting to do the compositing of the screen screen footage with the true to historical life backgrounds. That part is fully done, and we have added the global lighting effects and the first rendering of the actual music score. Still more work to do before it is perfect enough for the big screen, but we're getting close.
We are now committed and in high gear to complete principal photography by the end of August.
On Monday, August 11th, in Burbank, in the evening, we are going to be shooting our dramatic closing shareholders' meeting scene at a confirmed location, where our heroine confronts the corporate powers that be. So if you want to be an extra for this amazing movie making experience, select that reward, and we'll let you know exactly where it will be happening in plenty of time.
On Sunday, August 24th, during the late morning, we will be in the Bay Area to shoot our activist demonstration scene. It will either be in Berkeley, or downtown San Francisco, we just need to make a scouting trip in the next two weeks to nail down the exact location, but we will know that before the end of this project, and the date is certain. So again, if you are in the Bay Area, and want to be an extra to participate in that, select the "Be An Extra" reward, and will follow up with you in plenty of time.
Plus, we will also be doing our dramatic courtroom scene, where the wrongfully entrapped members of our activist group get saved by the Perry Mason moment of their brilliant defense attorney. And all our Los Angeles extras are welcome to participate in that as well. This will either a weeknight or weekend day in Los Angeles in the last week in August, and we are working on nailing down the location for that right now.
Here is the script for our opening, where we cut quickly from introducing our founding fathers, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton, in an authentic historical setting, to a completely modern day story about the real time struggles of an activist group.
And we have tons of other rewards for you, to thank you for making this work of activist life imitates art a reality. Help yourself to one of our movie related full four color bumper stickers:
Pick up a screener DVD of our first length feature narrative film, The Last War Crime, just recently completed, where we dramatize the fraudulent selling of the war in Iraq, based on false confessions obtained by torture, and imagine what it would have been like if Dick Cheney had been indicted for the war crimes he has already confessed he committed.
Get the audio CD of the radio play we produced, It's Up To Us Alone, featuring an extraordinary performance by renowned progressive activist, Ed Asner, which had its debut on two 100,000 watt radio stations. It's the story of a war torn Middle East that has to come together when an infectious biological agent released by terrorist runs wildly out of control, and the redemption of an extreme war hawk who comes to understand that war only leads to more war.
We have custom embroidered Citizens United, The Movie, caps, where we have faithfully emulated the period blackletter heading text of the US Constitution . . . and so much more!
This is a life imitates art project where life is starting to imitate art before we even finish shooting the movie. On July 10, 2014, the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary voted to pass a proposed constitutional amendment, S.J.Res.19, that would declare that Congress does indeed have the power to regulate the spending of money in our elections, to keep them from being inordinately dominated by the wealthy.
Then on July 15, 2014, members of the US House of Representatives followed suit by introducing a parallel measure, H.J.Res.119, with 108 original cosponsors right out of the box.
And in the meantime, in the state of California, Governor Jerry Brown issued a proclamation on July 17, 2014, allowing the CA legislature to put on the ballot Proposition 49, the Overturn Citizens United Act, which will give the voters of CA an opportunity to speak out on whether the Constitution should now be amended to clarify that money is NOT speech, a corporations do NOT have the rights reserved for real persons.
We will be incorporating all of these real life developments into the semi-fictionalized story of Citizens United, The Movie, and we already updating the script to take these strides forward into account in the script.
Citizens United, The Movie. "It's not just a motion picture . . . It's a movement." Join us now in helping to make this potentially world changing movie a reality.
Risks and challenges
Look at what we have already accomplished. We pulled together our first two shoot days with some of the top actors, costumes and hair and makeup people in the business, and it all looks absolutely real. We have our Supreme Court robing room scene composited with the incredibly realistic background recreations, and we have booked at least 5 more shooing days already, and are quickly lining up the rest of the locations.
We have a track record of completing major projects as evidenced by our screener DVD of the now ready for release full length feature dramatic film, The Last War Crime, for example.
All the rewards for our first Kickstarter project were delivered almost as quickly as we could determine the mailing addresses for doing so.
And so too will Citizens United, The Movie, be finished in splendid style and made available for you to experience in some form or format or venue as quickly as any full length feature has every completed post production, if only you will step forward to support this worthy and meaningful project now.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
