SYNOPSIS:
Is it possible to alter an irreversible past, to get a chance to do what is right and just? Black Ice is a short film about a torn and tattered man whose alcoholic vices cause a deadly car accident. It is his decision to flee the scene that paints the portrait of this tragic event. Therefore, the man falls deeply into the depths of guilt, leaving him to live a life where the past, present, and future intertwine. In these moments in life, he realizes perhaps, he may have a chance to change everything even if that means losing everything...
BACKGROUND:
Black Ice is a script I developed one winter, while living back home in Minnesota, that's based around an accident that happened in my hometown. The event posed a lot of existential questions, which I chose to explore in the form of this short story.
GOAL:
After shooting 10 days, in over 9 different locations, with a a cast and crew of over 35 people, we have finally reached the last leg of our journey making the short film, Black Ice. Many of us who worked on this film, already working in the film, tv and commercial industries decided to use this project as a creative outlet or art piece to push and showcase our own personal creative skills and endeavors.
Now in post production, and a month away from a New York Premiere, we are finishing up the film to completion.
There are costs necessary to finishing this film, as well as expenses for upcoming promotion for the film, as well as expenses incurred during the shooting of the film, that still need to be payed off. Which is why we are here on Kickstarter.
The funds we receive here @Kickstarter would be used for the following:
- Outstanding expenses incurred during the shooting of the film
- Finishing funds, such as compositing, audio mix and sound design, and other various post production needs
- Music Licensing
- Various marketing and promotional costs for the film during festival season
- Film Festival Submission fees and expenses.
The ultimate goal of this project, is to have Black Ice seen to as many audiences as possible, using this film as a springboard to produce future projects, such as, more short films, and eventually a feature film.
