About

The goal for Color Force Contemporary is to create an Artist’s Residency program and Special Project Space. Artists will be invited to participate in project based studio residencies with access to exhibition space and facilities for paint, print, carpentry, and textiles. At the end of each session Artists will share the over 4000 sq.ft. Project Space for a collaborative Installation and event based gallery opening. Residents can participate in a series of public artist talks in addition to a hands on educational component offering public workshops and studio instruction. Color Force Contemporary will document and promote the work of participating Artists through exhibition catalogues, both online and in print.Color Force Contemporary will try to provide Emerging Contemporary Artists with the resources to create and exhibit their work, while at the same time exploring creative collaboration and providing the community with quality installation art, and new works of all media.

We plan to make the essential improvements to the space over the course of the Fall and Winter, so that we can host 3-5 Residency Sessions over the course of the Spring and Summer of 2012.

We have the space, some supplies and materials, but your contribution will help us make these changes possible. Changes like: finishing the silkscreen lab and darkroom, completing the build out for the Studio and Project Space, outfitting the Project Space with gallery supplies (and electricity), and getting supplies and tools needed for the studio workshops.

The list of things to do is long but hopefully by donating to our project, you can help us achieve our goal and come to see what the first wave of residents produce next Spring.
