Expanding Horizons

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since we've update everyone on our status.

During our Kickstarter campaign, we had the great opportunity to meet the team behind 'The Long Dark', and we found many similarities between both of our projects. We've been approached by Hinterland Studio to join them on their quest to build a magnificent post-disaster survival sim, and we are happy to accept the invitation!

Although it may seem that we've put Raindrop on hold... that is not entirely the case. In fact, Raindrop is undergoing some major changes in which will take some time to achieve. In the meantime, we are excited to see the future of both 'The Long Dark' and 'Raindrop' in front of us. So stay tuned for more updates, and check out The Long Dark!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! Even though we did not achieve our funding goal, the support and interest that Raindrop has gained over the past month has been truly AMAZING. This is certainly not the end of the road for us. As we continue to develop Raindrop, we'll look back at this Kickstarter project as the beginning of our next chapter, and we want to thank each of our backers for helping spread the word. 

As we look forward, we plan to incorporate your feedback and process all the valuable advice and support we have received. We will always keep you informed on Kickstarter, and you can also sign up for our mailing list on our website. Over the next several days we will post more information as to what our next step will be. The options are limitless, and if there is one thing we've learned from this Kickstarter that stands above the rest, it would be this: We are no longer alone!

Raindrop Lada Teaser

Hello supporters, fans, followers, and backers. We have been working hard on this teaser for a while now, and we have uploaded the final cut. Please watch in HD!

We would like to take the time to thank each and every one of you for all of your devoted attention and support for our project. It truly has been a very positive experience that we have found to be successful on many levels. During our campaign, we received an overwhelming amount of feedback in the form of comments, suggestions, criticism, questions, and inquires which have helped us plan out the future of Raindrop.  

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to Brian Fargo and the Wasteland 2 team for all of their support! Brian has helped us out in tremendously, and we sincerely appreciate his efforts in spreading the word! We also look forward to Wasteland 2!  

The Hinterland team, who successfully reached their goal for The Long Dark, gave us a huge shout out during the start of our campaign! We would like to thank them and Raphael van Lierop for their continued support!  

The MYSERY mod team posted our campaign on their moddb page which brought in a slew of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans. We would like to thank Nicolai Aaroe and the MYSERY team for their support as well!

Halloween Update

We would like to thank everyone for your continued support! We have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, comments, questions, job inquiries, business proposals, and advice. While we are attempting to respond to everyone in a timely manner, we are also working on our next big update, in which we hope to significantly increase our audience. We appreciate your patience! In the mean time, we have a little Halloween treat. 

Throughout the years we have had a great amount of support from our fellow Source modders and indie game developers. We are proud to be recognized for the quality of our artistic direction and we would love to thank all those who have supported us in the past with something special. 

If we reach our initial funding goal we will release a map from the Raindrop mod version, ported to a popular Source game of your choice! 

Vote on your favorite map, and choose from a range of Source games. Since there are a variety of Source games out there, game play will change depending on the title. 

You will be free to use our models, textures, and all of the content in the map in which ever way you desire. Learn how we constructed our levels by loading our map into Hammer editor. Experience our first public playable Source build. 

In order for us to make this possible we would need to invest a large amount of time polishing and porting a map into the targeted game. Clearly this would only be possible if we reach our initial goal, since currently it is more important to allocate time towards developing Raindrop in Unity instead.

Raindrop Theme

The Raindrop Theme soundtrack includes a broad range of emotions, which essentially reflects the entire experience of the game.

Sound is just as important as the broadest brush stroke on white paper. It conveys various emotions which enhances the experience. Nihad has spent a great amount of time composing various sountracks and concepts for Raindrop. He uses an arsenal of digital tools, as well as physical intruments to achieve the desired effect. In order to keep an athentic and repeated theme, a similar tone and sound is re-constructed during every track.

Those two songs were created from scratch for the teasers only. Using an interface, I recorded the guitar and bass play. I used random recordings of noise or sounds for extra effect. By adding heavy synthesizers I wanted to achieve a more modern feel without compensating the mood. The synths try to mimic that old fashion 70s-80s sound aswell. As you can see, Raindrop will also feature some driving tracks as well :)

Old concept Songs

These songs were created during the development of Raindrop as a source mod.
Some of them are rough concepts of various dramatic songs that highlight certain story climaxes. Some are inspired by Akira Yamaoka, the composer of the Silent Hill OST's.

These songs were made using sequencers and various samples mixed together with recorded sounds.

From a taste of these tracks, you may have realized by now that we are not aiming for a  highly polished, expensive, orchestral, and undistinctive soundtrack. We want the same dirty atmosphere, depicted in our game, to be audible in our music and ambient soundtracks as well. Tracks mixed with folklore, fast, slow, heavy or just the single strummings of an acoustic guitar is what will make Raindrop's soundtrack uniquely interesting and worth listening to.
