I have been developing the Bladecoder Adventure Engine for four years with the goal of creating Little Johnny's Revenge adventure game.
I want to give the engine to all of you for FREE!
Using this game engine, programmers and non programmers can create adventure games easily.
The money raised with this campaign will also serve to make the adventure engine better.
Some of the engine features:
- Multi platform support: Android, IOS and Desktop (Windows, OSX, Linux).
- Several animation techniques: sprite/atlas animation, Spine (cutout) animation and 3d model animation.
- 3d character support .
- Multiresolution support to deal with different densities and screen sizes .
- Multilanguage support.
- No programming knowledge needed.
You can download the engine's latest version from here.
Or you can download the source code and adapt, modify and improve the engine in Github:
Digital copy of the game
The full desktop versions will be distributed on Steam if 'greenlit' as well as DRM-free download.
The Android version will be sent to the project backers as .apk due to Google Play Store restrictions.
The iOS version is not included in this campaign because of Apple Store restrictions.
"The Making of" (PDF with the creation process)
A beautifully designed document that shows the creation process of the game. It will include puzzle design, technical challenges, sketches, character design, animation tools, etc..
I will design a beautiful postcard thanking you and I will deliver it to your address.
Demo and Game source code
The demo and game source code will be provided as a project ready to be opened with Bladecoder Adventure Editor.
You will be able to use the source code to learn how to create a complete game with the Bladecoder Adventure Engine however you will not be able to distribute the game or the art with or without modifications.
Vote for Bladecoder Adventure Engine features
There are several features to implement in the backlog. I will create a poll to prioritize the feature list.
Backers selecting this reward will be able to participate this poll and will have priority to propose new features.
Bladecoder Adventure Engine support
This reward is for you if you plan to create a game using the Bladecoder Adventure Engine. I engage in answering by email all questions related to Bladecoder Adventure Engine. I will also fix reported bugs in less than 4 days.
€ 13,000 - More translations
Little Johnny's Revenge will be initially available in English and Spanish. If we reach € 13,000 I will be able to afford translations into German, French, and Italian. I may also be able to translate the game into other languages so if you have a preference, please let me know.
€ 30,000 - Chapter 2
Little Johnny will complete his revenge within this campaign but an unexpected event will occur at the end of the game. This event will leave an open door for a continuation of the adventure. The game will therefore ends with the words "to be continued...".
If we reach €30,000 I will make Chapter 2 of Little Johnny's Revenge building up the story on the aforementioned event.
All backers from the €10 tier and above will receive this new chapter with their other rewards. Although delivery on this won't be until sometime in 2017.
This is an "one-man-project". My name is Rafael García and I live in Spain.
Although I studied Computer Science, I was always interested in drawing and animating.
Four years ago I decided to create a game similar to the adventure games that I played when I was a teen, using the new tech and adapting the UI and gameplay to the new mobile world.
I developed Bladecoder Adventure Engine to create Little Johnny's Revenge but also as a tool to create interactive story driven games. I would like to see people using this engine to publish their stories as games for phones and tablets. I think that mobile devices are perfect to enjoy this kind of games.
Risks and challenges
It has been 2 years since I started working on Little Johnny's Revenge.
About 80% of the game is already done. So the risk of not shipping the final game is very low.
I know I can make it; especially with your help!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
