About this project
Why Make Just Another Fashion Product?
In an industry transfixed by the next wave of fast fashion, we firmly believe in looking back to understand the art and quality of traditional manufacturing and use that knowledge in order to create authentic products for our and future generations.
The current retail market, particularly fashion market, has fundamental flaws that often undermine interests of both producers and consumers, not to mention environment we live in.
The beauty of modern technology which completely changed the circumstances in the supply and distribution have allowed us to overcome the expenses of traditional consumer interaction, and thus, we offer high quality products, made in a sustainable, traditional style, at affordable prices. This new environment creates maximum value for all participants in our value chain, including our customer.
On top of that, it provides an opportunity for us to learn about different cultures, history and people, in order to pass on the knowledge to them which will raise awareness of traditional ways of creating top quality products.
We will not conform with the current situation on the market. Neither should you. Together we can turn things around!
How do we Intend to Achieve it?
By combining the positive characteristics of both traditional and modern markets, offering affordable luxury products yet making sure to honour the values and needs of modern consumer. In order to make this possible, instead of focusing solely on profit and end product, we focus on the unique process and people who participate in creating it, therefore constantly improving and growing.
- WE COMBINE MODERN DESIGN WITH TRADITIONAL MANUFACTURING
Our passion for creating things using the good old traditional way meets our open mind to innovation and combines the two – traditional and cutting edge – to meet the needs of current consumer while offering absolutely authentic and unique end product.
- WE'RE FULLY TRANSPARENT
By increasing the awareness about artisanal production, we can bring our producers and partners closer to our customers and build a lasting relationship based on trust.
- WE SELL ONLY DIRECTLY ONLINE
Modern online selling enables us to remove the middle man, therefore making sure that the people who made the product get most income – not the ones reselling it. That’s how we can sell Premium products at affordable prices.
People Who Crafted the Product
For our first project we partnered with an Italian family-run artisan shoe workshop to create a modern design, luxury sneaker collection.
Italian artisans have been making the best quality footwear in the world for centuries. Unfortunately, for various social and economic reasons, many of them have been pushed out of business.
In order to see it for ourselves we packed our stuff and traveled to Italy. On one of our trips around the Marche region, which is famous about shoemaking, we were fortunate enough to discover a small shoe workshop called Mauron and the family running it.
The shoe workshop Mauron SNC, is located in the province of Fermo in a little, picturesque town of Montegranaro.
Calzaturificio Mauron and Guerrini Family
Italo Guerrini, a true artist, a craftsman, passionate shoemaker remembers the good old days fondly, “It wasn’t like now” says Italo. “There wasn’t working hours. Our whole life was in the shop, because our passion was working on shoes". Italo started working at a shoe workshop when he was 10 years old. That was back in the 1960s. Days when true quality was appreciated and demand for artisanal products was incredibly high.
However, today, according to the artisan, due to the advertising by big companies the market trends have changed from art and quality to cheap alternatives. Moreover, growing costs of raw materials and a lack of skilled workers are causing many companies closing or moving their production to other countries.
Yet there is still a demand for high-quality, authentic products. Asked what makes a good shoe, Italo answers: “Quality material in a qualified shoe worker’s hands”. “Good material with poor craft doesn’t work well. Big firms sell a lot and do fashion with products that are less detailed. That’s not us. We pay attention to every detail - from the material to the final little touches.”
Despite the difficulties today, at 67 years old, Mr Guerrini continues to handcraft premium-quality shoes in his family-run shoe workshop.
As if it was the 60s.
They Need Your Help!
That’s where you and us come into play. In order to preserve this form of art from dying, we need your help in order to raise enough funds to get the first shoe collection into production and help this wonderful artisans keep producing for the years to come.
We’ll make our first limited collection of shoes, crafted by the hands of Mr Guerrini and his family, exclusively for you, our Kickstarter backers.
We believe that people who make the product become a part of that product, your story is another part of it.
Our line of smart-casual sneakers artfully balances traditional, small-scale artisanal production, high-quality materials and contemporary design.
We spent many hours refining our designs. We carefully chose every component by focusing on function, comfort and longevity, always with the current needs of contemporary, urban consumer in mind.
We don't believe in fast changing trends and disposable fashion. Actually our strengths are coming from industrial design with the focus on essence and function of the product rather than just temporary beauty. We believe that if form follows function we are able to achieve timeless design that is reflected in aesthetic quality of our products.
By designing our first shoe we wanted to achieve one versatile, simple look aimed for both men and women to fit their increasingly various urban lifestyles.
While the shoe is almost identical for both sexes, the woman's shoe is slightly more narrow than the man's in order to fit female's foot structure better.

Every Little Detail Matters
Every component, from the tiniest eyelets to our packaging, has been sourced from the local region to ensure maximum value for the community and sustainable production.
Soft Italian leather is vegetable tanned and, as a final touch of the artisan, hand-polished at the shoe workshop to ensure its beautiful texture and maximum breathability. With daily use, the leather will gradually age, making it unique to the wearer.
The shoe outsoles are made of modified EVA mixed with rubber and latex. Usually used in high performance footwear, our lightweight EVA compound ensures maximum shock absorption and good grip on most surfaces.
The removable insoles are made of polyether foam and covered with natural, chemically untreated cowhide leather. This combination guarantees continuous comfort and cushioning, great sweat absorption and antibacterial qualities.
Elastic shoelaces keep the shoe design clean and minimal. No need to tie any knots!
If you help us reach our stretch goals we're going to be able to offer more colours and new materials to incorporate them into our production.
Shoe Sizes and Fitting
We understand how crucial it is for a pair of new shoes to be a good fit – especially when you are buying them online! We have your needs at heart. We’ve put together a comprehensive sizing chart that will aid you in deciding what shoe size you need.
After the completion of the campaign we will send out the survey with sizing chart to find out about your size, and other required details to complete our rewards and ship them to you in prompt manner.
If you need assistance figuring out your size or have any other questions, feel free to contact us and we'll gladly help you. We’ll help you out. If you receive a shoe that doesn’t fit, we got your back, and will send a properly fitting pair, free of charge!
Important Information for backers from USA and Europe
Shipping to Europe and USA is free of charge. However, USA and Europe backers may automatically have £10 added to their pledge for shipping - please select "In the UK" bottom left of that screen and subtract the £10 from your pledge total so that you are only pledging the amount listed on this page. Equally feel free to leave it in and donate it to the cause. And don't worry that it says "domestic shipping", we will collect your address details by sending the survey after the campaign is finished.
It is only possible to list reward prices in one currency (GBP). To make it easier for people from different countries to estimate preliminary prices in their currencies we included approximate USD and EUR prices. The exact amount charged will depend on the exchange rate at the date of your pledge.
Risks and challenges
Besides our small team this project involves many more people including our production partners and suppliers. Thus we believe that the biggest risk is possible delays related to the production. We take every possible precaution to reduce this risk to the minimum: we very carefully selected every supplier and met them in person to agree about all required terms and conditions in order to complete the project in a timely manner.
Nevertheless, if we run into any issues in the process of completing the project, we will make sure to inform our backers about them and provide regular updates. Remember that transparency is an integral part of our business!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
When pledging please choose option "In the UK" bottom left of that screen and then reduce the total amount of the pledge by £10 manually.
