About this project
Dice Angle Games is a startup company offering entertaining and challenging Dice games under the brand name DAGZ. Dice Angle Games was founded by Chris Carroll in early 2016 following his invention of the DAGZ game concept. Chris loved entertaining and competitive games and he was searching for a creative game that brought the thrill of many outdoor games such as bags, horseshoes, bocce ball, and washers to life in a smaller scale. The smaller scale would bring about the ability of portability for indoor/outdoor use eliminating the restrictions of nightfall or inclement weather. DAGZ is that game that emulates and adapts these popular games into compact box. Check out how to play!
We believe there is a demand for a board game than enables a participant to throw dice using a combination of methods and techniques to navigate the board attempting to rest said dice in a defined scoring area. We aim to validate the demand and increase our buying power to improve many aspects of our supply chain. At minimum reaching our funding goal will allow us to increase our market presence and continue growing our brand. If we are able to fund our project beyond our goals we hope to:
Further our Product Development including investigation of alternative building materials and new game designs.
Use economies of scale to create manufacturing cost compression / efficiencies
Improve our Marketing / Advertising and Brand development through videos
Secure sports licensing for collegiate and professional teams
Create a collegiate ambassador program hosting tailgates around the country
At the present time, DAGZ is offered in three (3) different models:
(1) The table topper:
This is extremely portable and simply needs to be set atop a table or on the ground to be played. This model is also our lowest cost version making it an ideal present for any college student.
(2) The tailgater:
This version offers the similar portability benefits to the table topper except this comes complete with hideaway legs and cup holders for the ability to setup the game on its own.
(3) The game room or bar room:
This version is a permanent furniture quality piece bringing high quality construction, durability and longevity.
Risks and challenges
DAGZ is currently made of high quality wood to ensure consistent game play and durability. Using wood for manufacturing does have it's drawback including: it's expensive, heavy, and bulky. Certainly we are proud of the quality we put forth, but we do realize that the drawbacks lead to difficulties in shipping and storage. Kickstarter offers us a unique ability to aggregate our demand and use economies of scale to bring our supply chain costs down and bring that savings directly to our customers.
We currently have a manufactured secured that produces all of our finished goods today. Depending on the level at which we fund we could have problems scaling to meet our proposed delivery times. For example: if we funded at 10X or greater it could add a number of weeks to our production and fulfillment time. To combat this we have discussed a plan to initiate the manufacturing process once the initial funding goal is met even if the project has not come to a closure. This jump on production will help us ensure we hold tight to our committed delivery objectives. Although this extends our company from a cash flow perspective, we believe a positive customer experience will help us greatly.
DAGZ is an attractive game concept to attempt to plagiarize both for individuals and other companies that may make similar products or operate in a similar markets today. This is a concern we understand fully and we have set forth strategies to combat this as well: (1) It's starts with a strategy we employed out of the gate which was to pursue a utility patent and we are proud to be able to put patent pending on each of our products; (2) it was about coming up with a catchy name that becomes synonymous with the game in the same way kleenex is to tissue paper.
