We want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has donated and supported our film so far and helped us reach our budgetary goal of $2,500!
We have all of the bare bones of our budget covered completely, but if we were to continue receiving donations over the next 12 days we would be able to cover film festival submissions as well as any extra production costs.
Thank you so much for all of the support, and continue to spread the word about Dreams of The Wayward.
Dreams of The Wayward is a feature length film initially inspired by the Biblical parable of the prodigal son as it follows a twenty year old named Luke who is fearful of his future. Graduating from high school - a year before the events of the film - Luke chose not to attend college but his parents are now pressuring him to take initiative in his life and follow his seemingly non-existent ambitions. Defying the will of his family, Luke leaves home and finds himself on the streets. Meanwhile, Sam (a middle-aged man) is trying to separate himself from his past as an influential gang leader. In a brutal act of fate, Luke would be mugged by gang members associated with Sam. Sam chooses to take Luke into his home, but as their personal desires collide conflict arises.
Production and Progress:
The script for Dreams of The Wayward has gone through five drafts already and is currently 64 pages long. Half of the cast is already lined up, and upon Ben Neal and Grant Douglas Bromley's return to Knoxville from Watkins Film School on May 5th, they will begin location scouting and begin working with the cast in read-throughs and rehearsals. Principle photography should begin mid May and will hopefully conclude late June.
