A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Casagram is a social network app combined with a messenger that meets all functions of current messengers and includes additional features such as multi-videoconference or a payment function. Furthermore, the user has a news and trend feed, which keeps him up to date of latest trends and news from any area like sports, technology, lifestyle, politics, gam-ing etc. The friends list looks like a street map of your neighborhood, consisting of your friends, family and contacts. Another feature is the notice board, where the user and his friends can share articles from the trend feed or their own personal feed. At the marketplace user can join discussions or follow artists or persons or can just create their own groups or content. All these areas or menus: -neighborhood, trend feed, marketplace and your main menu - are separate, and switching between them and using them is easy and intuitive. The users’ data remains their property and is not further used or sold. How the app is used is entirely up to the user, as a news app, a messenger, a place for trading goods and services and as a discussion forum, or to follow other people. All these functions can also be used in combination, forming one app that encompasses the benefits of several that are currently used. Users can choose between entering the "public places" (marketplace, trend feed) anonymously or with real profile. They can obviously decide whether public visibility is enabled or not. Casagram can be accessed via email address or phone number. For connecting to other users you just need their username. All of this comes in an innovative design. Playing games with your friends is possible as well as using the app for decentralized, anonymous payment. The user has an account with Casacoins that can be used as a savings account or to buy new designs for the user’s house in the friends list (like skins in an online game), advertising free season tickets or additional cloud storage. Additionally, users can trade with each other using Casacoin (symbol: or CAC) as the globally used currency.
In my generation back in the noughties it was cool to be on Facebook. But when they excluded the messenger function, lots of people switched back to WhatsApp. Because one of the reasons that made Facebook so great was the possibility to have all functions combined in one platform. But that was no longer the case. The next generation used Facebook, but in a very rudimentary way compared to my generation. This is the reason why we saw an increase of the average user age to 40 and above in 2017. Where have all the young users gone, the ones who set the next trends? They switched to Instagram and Snapchat. These two networks where just younger and different than the former number one. Now, augmented reality, virtual reality as well as the use of crypto currencies are becoming more and more popular. The next question must therefore be:
Who will be next?
We live in fast times and to analyze the market potential -which will be presented in the next section- we did intensive research. We went to a lot of schools in cities and in the country-side in different countries and questioned the now 12 to 18-year-olds, as this is the next user generation and thus the generation that will set the next trend. In the following, we will present the results from this study. Since we could obviously not conduct a global survey, we did some additional literature research. The relevant results of this research will also be presented here as far as they are relevant.
Casagram market study
First, we analyzed the situation on the market. What networks are used and to what extent. The research shows who seems to be the market leader, as presented below by the tech news site Techcrunch. Considering that the average user’s age on Facebook increased to over 40 a few months ago, this might be the truth for now but it won’t stay true.
But let us take a look at the future. Since it is always the young people that set the next trend, the next graph points in a very different direction. What we can see there is a significant decrease in Facebook usage. Only a third of the next user generation even utilizes this network. Twitter seems to be almost dead. WhatsApp, YouTube and Instagram are the cur-rent players on the market, followed by Snapchat with WhatsApp and Instagram being owned by Facebook.
This development is also confirmed by further research of Casagram, as we found out that more than 69% of the 14 to 18-year-olds do not even have Facebook anymore.
This over-whelmingly points in a clear direction: The time has come to rethink and to build a new social network solution!
But why has the young generation had enough Facebook and Twitter and might soon get sick of the others?
To answer this question, we must dig deeper. We asked the people in an open questionnaire (that means no predefined answers to increase honest answering) what they dislike most in the networks and what they consider the key features. Following the figure below it is obvi-ous that people are annoyed by a lack of privacy followed by pesky advertisements and after that by the data collection as well as the abuse and sales by the corporations. Considering it was an open question to 12 to 18 years old teenagers, these are very interesting results, as the next generation seems to be aware of the current impact of the big players on the market on our social lives.
A further problem is the complex handling of the setting. The settings are intentionally kept complex, as it seems that the corporations want to make sure you share as much of your information as possible. Moreover, some people seem to hate feature copying and consider the networks aged and old-fashioned.
As we know now what people dislike, the next question should be:
What is it the next user generation wants?
To answer this question in a more general way, we should consider the hierarchy of needs. The basic need above survival and physiological needs is safety - aside from economic and physical safety also consisting of the potential to have the control over one’s own environment.
Most platforms out on the market, such as Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat are just aiming at the top two levels of the pyramid: self-actualization and esteem. While Facebook currently makes a nice try at improving its efforts on the third level (Love/belonging). But none of the mentioned social networks really cares about fulfilling the needs of the level below: safety. Casagram wanted to know how important those needs are for the younger generation and in this paper, we present in a very condensed form what people want.
As we have seen above, people are annoyed by the abuse of data by the companies. Data safety and security are rated as important to very important by over 81.7% of users. This feels like a slap in the face for lots of networks in this world. The people seem to have become aware of it already. A total of more than 95 % considered their data safety and security indispensable.
Questioned why they still use the current networks the answer is often the same: “My friends are there.”
This statement shows a very important realization:
People are not willing to change their known environment (the current networks) only for safety!
Safety is important? Agreed.
Important enough to change? Disagreed.
But if they had the choice between control and no control over their environment the answer was clear: They would like to have the control over their settings and once that is ensured, over their online life and behavior as well as over their data.
The most important question also leads in that direction:
Why should people change?
The answer was clearly given by the youngsters: They would change for functions, increased privacy and data safety and of course for social needs. Now we know what people dislike and would like to have.
Furthermore, we know what is important to the people and we know what all the current big players are lacking:
People want to have a choice.
The choice of control over their data and the usage.
The choice how they can use their social network.
The choice whether to see or not to see advertising.
The choice of having functions that are not just copied, but new.
Which functions are important?
According to the questioning sheet the most important features are as shown: When a new social media application comes out, it absolutely has to include the presented functions in some way. Additionally, content must be provided, but users should also have the possibility to create some content themselves.
Every new social platform on the market should be considered with caution and carefully investigated. This survey must therefore be followed by a merciless market analysis.
Starting with the biggest fish on the social media market. The corporation has kept growing over the years, but Facebook is aware that it will have massive problems soon, as the av-erage user’s age is currently older than 40, with this trend ongoing. The numbers of teenag-ers accessing the big platform are still decreasing. In the meantime, Facebook is working on a virtual reality (VR) solution for messaging, hoping to stop this dangerous trend this way. Additional chat bots are being developed and improved. Zuckerberg realized (maybe too late) that they should focus more on groups that are still growing on the platform and on people’s needs. But advertising is too lucrative - and so is selling data. And here we are: The hierarchy of needs. People want to belong to some kind of group. With its neighborhood-style friends list, Casagram presents the ideal solution for this need, as the user feels more closely connected to friends and family.
Diaspora is the best negative example why new social media platforms which offer only increased anonymity and privacy will never reach the mainstream market. Diaspora has now existed for about ten years and has about 667,000 users. Most people do not even know they are there. This shows that offering only increased privacy and data safety just addresses the so-called nerds but not the mainstream.
WhatsApp is one of the biggest players in the market. With over one billion users, Facebook bought a very powerful company. But why it did it become so powerful? Remember when Facebook appeared, including a messenger. Everyone sent messages over Facebook, because it was easy and fast. The moment Facebook made its messenger separate was the gong for WhatsApp’s rise. Because now people needed an extra app for something that most already had on their phones: messaging. As we already know, that is one of the most important functions in a social network. While WhatsApp is still a big player, also in the younger age groups, it is not fit for the future because people become more and more aware of the lack of privacy that goes along with using WhatsApp. This is one of the reasons why Telegram saw a great increase in the last two years too and has now exceeded the 100 million user level. It provides safety beside other nice gimmicks like stickers. A feature that was now copied by the Facebook Corporation. They included it in WhatsApp and their Facebook Messenger.
Facebook Messenger, WeChat
The Facebook Messenger is used by a substantial number of people. Apart from a lot of other functions, it already includes a payment function. The same applies to WeChat, the biggest Messenger in the eastern hemisphere. It includes a payment and real-world shopping function as well as mini games and a lot of other pretty cool additional features. But both heavily lack when it comes to privacy and data safety.
Casagram - The concept
Casagram brings a new concept to young people and the next user generation: The combination of gaming features with social networking. However, it does so not in the way current social networks do. It’s not just the inclusion of games, which would be just another scam. The basic idea is that people should feel as safe in their network as they do at their real world home base. People feel safest in places they know well, and it is this feeling of safety that Casagram aims to provide. This means that a structure is provided where you enter your very own home, surrounded by your familiar neighborhood. But in Casagram you can decide who lives in that neighborhood, which means that it will consist for example of your friends and family, as this is the group that you feel you belong to and you are comfortable with.
This is where the name comes from: Casa is Spanish for house and probably known from the frequently quoted sentence: Mi casa es tu casa (My house is your house). The other part of the name comes from the notion of staying in touch via telegrams. The result is Casagram.
Structure – main menu
Casagram consists of the functions that are most important to the young generation, as we acknowledged before in the survey. Following the basic concept, the main menu looks like a house and is the centerpiece of the app. The diverse elements can be arranged according to the user’s wishes: The messenger in second floor, library and cloud in the first floor or vice versa. Additionally, the colors of roof-top, walls, floors and fonts can be changed. The user thus gets a very individual experi-ence.
The messenger meets present requirements and is obviously encrypted for a secure user experience without any corporate surveillance. Furthermore, it includes a multi-video chat and multi-call-sessions function as well as a payment function with Casacoins, so anony-mous trading and payment among users becomes possible. In the library you have faster access to your videos, pictures and documents as well as to your cloud, which serves as messenger storage. This feature avoids that other users, especially those whose phones have low data storage capacity, get unnecessarily flooded with undesired posts, especially in groups. The faster access to your favored chat partners as well as to your library allows you not to waste time with annoying switching and searching by reducing tabs you are still using. You can furthermore enable or disable a mini personal news feed and/or a hobby room, where frequently needed web links can be stored.
Structure – Social needs
Casagram offers the opportunity to feel more connected to social circles and thus increase the feeling of being member of a group even when you are not close to them. The friends list in the form of a neighborhood consists of friends, family and contacts and is thus a perfect solution for the social demand of belonging and thus the safety of the indi-vidual. It also contains a black board where you can read posts and shares by your contacts. You can thus keep it separated from your own news feed if you want. Furthermore, the app includes a shop where you can buy further different designs for your own house that is also visible in your own neighborhood. You immediately see whether your friends now live in a tent, a cabin, a mansion or a castle, just to mention a few design op-tions. These designs are available at various prices. However, different house designs enable no further function, as this would disadvantage users who are unwilling to spend money on the app. But it surely increases your prestige! Season tickets for an advertising-free news feed, trend wall and marketplace as well as additional cloud storage are also available in the shop.
Structure – home wall
You can decide how you can be recognized in the public. You can choose individually for every contact or in general how much access your friends have to your home base. After all, you would not allow anybody to enter your real home, would you? Even those, the people you don’t invite into your home might still be allowed to check regu-larly what’s going on in your life. That is the purpose of the Homewall. Here you can share pictures, posts and updates about yourself and your daily life or business. It is your personal news feed that people can follow if you are a person of public interest or just want to let the world know you are there. If none of these reasons fit for you than just hide it in your privacy settings. Easy and fast.
Structure – home base
You can also decide to allow close neighbors (aka friends) to enter your home base. Would you show any friend every room of your house? You further decide which rooms can be entered and which stay closed. Your messenger for example will not even appear, as this is your most private room. But you can give special rights to any user you want. Others can for example enter your hobbies room, your neighborhood (without black board), your personal news feed or even your cloud storage. A perfect solution for public figures who want to share their entire life with others. Other than that, it can also be used to grant fast access to stored projects in the cloud or links you want to share to friends or colleagues. In that case, the home base could also be used as company, team or project headquarters to make development processes more efficient and avoid additional fees, like on other websites such as slack. If you need more cloud storage, you can buy it in the shop in the form of season tickets (monthly, quarterly or yearly).
Structure - informational needs
The trend wall can be adjusted to individual needs, so you always have access to the latest and most trending news from fields that matters to you. The articles and posts can be commented and liked or disliked. You can decide whether you enter the trend wall with your profile visible for the others or completely anonymously (as the use case shows with a mask in the top right edge). In this case, a code not relating to your profile is generated and other users can only see the random code.
Example: “3Rz5T6i7 has commented”
A new code is generated every time the wall is entered by the user.
The market – interacting and e-commerce platform
The market can be entered in the same way as the trend
Enter with real profile or anonymously.
Discover the latest trends, new products or news.
Follow other users
Discover and follow music and videos
Discover and follow or join groups
Join different discussions
Search for the next event you want to go to
Share your experience with your friends
Play games with your friends and family
Trade goods and services with other users
Have access to a decentralized marketplace
Open source, private and secure
The codes cannot yet be revealed but will be, and open source will be available to get a Computer Chaos club approval that we keep our promises. The payment system runs on a decentralized and blockchain basis to ensure users’ trading privacy. But users performing illegal activities will be permanently banned to ensure the integrity of the network. There-fore, a reporting function will also be implemented. Since groups and areas on the platform can be entered anonymously, open discussions will be encouraged. There will be no blocking function like on Facebook, so should be-come possible to speak freely about politically suppressed or incorrect subjects again. We are completely convinced that only open and free discussions without political cor-rectness lead to a better world and a better system! That is why we want to bring data safety back to you while you can freely discuss any sub-jects you want with others and stay in touch with your work colleagues or our friends and family at the same time and without fake profiles, as your privacy will be protected.
Casagram will act as the missing link that connects people who are unfamiliar with block-chain technology to this future market. While they become familiar with our cryptocurrency in a playful manner, they will have easier access to all the other existent crypto currencies. This way, Casagram acts as a multiplier to get more people to the crypto currency market, which might also help other currencies and ICOs to realize their goals.
But we remember: People are lazy! Why should they change?
The hard but only true answer, as we saw in the survey, is:
Casagram provide an ALL-IN-ONE platform.
Casagram includes all required features plus additional ones.
The user has a news- and trend feed and thus always stays up to date about the latest news.
The user can individualize his/her environment as well as his/her appearance to friends and the public.
In this way the user’s house serves as a status symbol. It helps the user gain addition-al prestige in an overcluttered virtual environment and can stand out from the crowd.
The user can trade goods and services in a decentralized manner and without any surveillance.
Young users are given a first experience with crypto currencies, which also might help other blockchain platforms and services rise.

The future of Casagram
Of course, we will not stop with the development of the Casagram platform as described above. For the future, we see it as the perfect platform for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) chat solutions. Imagine users chat with friends in VR from their own living room just by entering their Casagram messenger room and starting the call with their phone in the VR goggles they are wearing. Or think about an old woman who wants to go to service. With Casagram she can activate the AR function, join her religious group in the market and see the priest hold the service in her room. Additionally, the payment system could be expanded to a real blockchain bank where users could store their Casacoins in savings accounts and use them for shopping. The money would thus be prevented from government access and anonymous payment would be secured in a future where our lives are increasingly monitored.
