"Same Same But Different" DinDang UnHotels - an Alternative Lodging Place That's Like a Functional Art Gallery in the Heart of Colorado Springs
People are looking for different, for unique, for something that intrigues us and inspires us. Many of us also are concerned with our environment, about the kind of place we’re going to leave behind for our children and grandchildren. We want to "give back," lend a hand up. We want to lay our heads down at the end of the day and think, "In my own way, I made this world a better place today.”
The founder (aka Bizness Innovator/Vagabond) of DinDang International unHotels, Val Baughman, felt a need to address these very human concerns. Combining his skills in real estate and land development, his passion for using recycled or repurposed materials to create something unexpected, and his belief that we must give back, he created DinDang International unHotels, and started the development of the flagship DinDang unHotels project in Colorado Springs, CO, USA. DinDang unHotels? What’s THAT?
Well, it's kind of like a hotel but not.
It's kind of like an international youth hostel but not.
It's kind of like an RV park and an event center but not really.
The business Val founded is considered a “socially responsible business.” By that he means that the company will partner with local NPOs or other socially responsible businesses to buy goods and services that would otherwise be bought from private industry. DinDang will host events where the proceeds will go to benefit a wide range of charities. On top of that he aims to be green! It's his mission to use recycled, used, repurposed, free, or natural building materials as much as possible. Solar energy will offset the utility costs and he’ll use rainwater collection and grey water recovery systems to irrigate the landscaping and, if all goes as planned, the irrigation water will be pumped around the site by human powered exercise bikes!
Val found the perfect piece of land on which to build DinDang unHotels, Colorado Springs. Visible and easily accessible from the interstate, with a 360 degree view of Pikes Peak and the Front Range, Cheyenne Mountain, and city lights. He's designed a 67-bed alternative lodging park with a 4000 square foot clubhouse made entirely of used, repurposed, recycled, free, and natural building materials. Every lodging unit on the site and all of the site landscaping will also meet those specs. People from all over the world, from all walks of life, all ages and all backgrounds, will visit the Pikes Peak region and stay with us. They'll choose from vintage RVs, shipping containers, tiny homes, luxury tents, old school buses made into sleeping dorms, concrete culvert sleeping pods, attic pods, a teepee, and even a caboose. They'll come for a weekend, a family reunion, to attend a charity event, a happy hour BBQ or a workshop.

• We have a solid business plan which details how the business will be
operated and shows an extraordinary return on investment.
• The expected revenue will handily take care of our investors, and more

payroll and operating expenses, the remaining revenue will
be distributed to our charity partners, giving back to our communities.
• We’ll offer entrepreneurial opportunities for local business people. And
we’ll have community partnerships lined up ready to make a
difference not only for this local community but for the global one
beyond Colorado Springs.
We have an executive development team of five people, each with 20 - 30 years in their respective fields, who have invested over $40,000 of their own money, and over 1200 hours of their time in efforts to bring DinDang unHotels to life.
What is needed is YOUR help to turn our vision into a reality. We're seeking to raise $1,680,000 to fund the cost of creating our facility, purchasing the materials we need to create it, and paying the artisans in our community who will be assisting with the creation. Some say we're crazy to try. We acknowledge we are, but in a good way! We're crazy optimistic. We're crazy passionate about building a living functional art gallery with unique lodging, and seeing all the good we will do for people and the planet. We're crazy hopeful that others like you will be crazy passionate, too, and help us out!
We have 30 days to raise the funds. We can do it. We WILL do it wiith your help.
