Pick Up Group (Canceled)
Gather terrible MMO players into a party and try to keep them together long enough to go on raids and collect loot.
The weekend is here and you've decided to log into your favorite MMO and raid for as much loot as you can. There is one problem, your friends aren't free this weekend. This means you must do the unthinkable, you must form a...
A Pick Up Group, for those unaware, is a group of random people who gather to do quests that can't be done alone. As these people do not know each other they often clash over play styles, gear selection, how long they can play, what dungeon they want to do, their names, and anything else they can think of to argue about.
They are, without fail, the worst group of people you could get into one party.
Pick Up Group is a party card game for 3-6 players trying to form adventuring parties to go on raids and collect as much loot as possible.
This is easier then it sounds because the only people online are just awful, awful adventurers.
- A tank might leave if there isn't enough healers
- A healer might leave if there are too many DPS for them to handle
- A DPS might be more of a burden than he's worth
- A hybrid might constantly shift between tank and dps
- A support in another party might lure your best adventurer away
Once you've managed to form a party and keep them together long enough you choose a raid and collect loot. At which point everyone immediately logs out and you must form a new PUG to go on a new raid.
Be quick though, once a raid has been cleared it closes for the day and no one else is allowed in.
Collect the most loot before all the raids close up and you win!
At the beginning of each turn everyone will get a hand of adventurers who are looking for group. You pick one, secretly add it to your party, then when everyone is ready you reveal it.
As adventurers get added to your party you must be aware of their own quirks that might make them leave the party, or even force others out.
Once all effects are resolved you count up your party's current power level and check the raids. Every raid requires a certain power level (or higher) to defeat along with a specific number (or higher) of Tanks, Healers, and DPS.
Anyone who goes on the raid collects the listed amount of loot and their party immediately logs out (discards). They will have to find a new PUG to go on the next raid.
The raid then closes, everyone passes their current hand to the left, and the game continues. If anyone has no cards in their hand then everyone gets 5 new cards added to their current hand.
You always draw cards from the lowest level deck available, if the deck is empty you get to use the next step up until there is no one left looking for group.
This means you start with the noobs, who aren't any good, then you get the veterans before you move onto the legends of the server.
Don't be mistaken though, just because they know how to play doesn't mean they will be any less of a hassle to recruit.
Once all the dungeons are closed or there is no one looking for group then the game ends and the person with the most loot wins!
If you are better with visuals I have made a quick game play overview video. Be warned, I am not a voice actor.

Shipping will be charged after the campaign is over. It's a pain, I know, but it helps make sure 100% of the kickstarter funds go to the product. It also makes sure the shipping costs are accurate, as stretch goals may change the products weight and dimensions.
Right now the shipping estimates (in US dollars) look like this:
- USA - $7.25
- EU - $14.19
- Canada - $10.29
- Australia - $12.22
- China - $9.60
Risks and challenges
This is my first card game, so i'm not experienced with manufacturers and shipments from china. So it might take longer then I estimated. I'll be sure to keep people updated to every problem that might pop up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
