We are MajorLOVE and this is the beginning of our Story. Well, sort of.
Of course, there's a background to us and all of this, but Story –– our debut album and musical lovechild –– is just starting to take form. And we need you to be a part of it. More importantly, we want you to be a part of it.
A husband-and-wife, indie dance pop duo, we are Major and Johnna and we are the sum of MajorLOVE's membership. The creation of our band, this album, and our relationship in general came from a mutual love for creative musical expression –– putting together unique covers, writing parodic rap songs, and hosting friends for collaborative musical experiments.
Vision for Story
Story is a loosely-based concept album about life lessons –– a collective tribute to the experiences we've had and what we've learned. It reflects on the past and explores its effect.
Also, Story will serve as a platform. Not just for us, but also for our creative friends who will help with audio engineering, mixing and mastering, conceptual development, media, photography, marketing, creative writing, design, and film production.
Where is the money going?
The bare minimum needed to complete Story, and what we'll need to be successful in our Kickstarter campaign, is $6000. That will cover the cost of a producer, mixing and mastering, and basic travel expenses for the duration of our studio time.
If we're lucky enough to exceed our fundraising goal, we'll be able to put the additional money toward print and press, merchandise, promotion, and future live shows.
Risks and challenges
The music industry, in general, is incredibly competitive. And the type of music we do –– pop, or 'popular' –– is all the more crowded. We know that it's going to take something special to make it .
But we think we have that something special. And we think we can make it.
Shortcoming, in some measure, will be inevitable. We understand that. But we feel that we have the resilience, the network, and the talent to overcome the obstacles that we'll face.
With connections to well-known and accomplished people in every necessary industry –– from recording to marketing to media and public relations –– we know that our connections will be instrumental to our success. Indeed, our access to top-notch people in the aforementioned industries will really pay dividends in our pursuit of excellent, broad-reaching musical artistry.
Furthermore, our collaborative drive and humility will allow us to channel stubbornness when it's needed –– refusing to give in to the besetting trials that we'll face –– while becoming teachable when it's necessary.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
