If you can't find peace in the world, I want to take you with me to the other worlds - the ones in my mind, and in others' minds through other art that has made me who I am.
Of This and Other Worlds
1. Sången (The Song)
A Swedish folk song with grand piano and harmonium. Listen to the song from the trees, the roots, the water, the heart; sing out your anxiety.
2. The Voices in My Head
Rhodes and strings and echoes of voices. Voices that aren't mine, voices that aren't me - they are the voices in my head, and they have no business there.
3. Formally Free
Folk rock with double bass, drums, guitar, banjo ... I was formally set free before I was born, I should dance, I should breathe in effortlessly, I can't see a captor yet I feel beaten.
Cabaret pop with piano and a band. About Amanda (Palmer?) who's a rockstar and who isn't dead at 27. Incidentally, I will release this album when I'm 27. In your face, masculinist music industry. We can all be happy and do what we want.
5. Roadtrip med familjen (Road trip with the family)
Grand piano and clarinet. Someone is driving at night, passing monoculture fields and industrial forests and abandoned small towns with beggars sleeping in the streets. He gets petrol and thinks it's all too late and wants to be forgiven.
Grand piano, harmonium and clarinet. A song written by Joakim Berg and originally recorded by the band Kent. Is there a prehistoric god of petroleum, a Cthulhu dreaming of dead corals and heavy metals?
7. Vanans makt (The power of habit)
Folk pop with double bass, drums, guitar, mandolin, violin ... The power of habit leads us to walk faster, increasing our pace. But it is all on the verge of collapse. Is it collapsing around us? I have a dream about catastrophe and crash, chaos underneath the calm surface. I wake up.
Grand piano and string quartet. This is the journey of Shadow in American Gods by Neil Gaiman, it is the ghost of J.R.R. Tolkien saying we're lost, and it is the joy of seeing our new beginning in the ashes and dust in your own body.
9. Take charge, take care
Ukulele hope, if we all just decide to be the ones who decide. Many people say we must choose better leaders and hold these leaders accountable. I say we can be our own owners and our own rulers, take back now what we've sold so cheaply, take care of each other and take care of life.
Risks and challenges
It is really all done except printing and pressing and covering the costs for this. I suppose if all factories suddenly shut down I'd have trouble finding somewhere to do the printing! But then I promise I'd hand-craft individual copies of the album for all those who have placed an order. I'm releasing the album on my own label so I'm in full control.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
