Dear Kickstarter fans,
Good things do come to those who wait. We are very excited to announce (after many long months) that our animated film Birth has just been accepted into the 2013 Woods Hole Film Festival. HOORAY!
If you're from Massachusetts, you probably know about Woods Hole. If you're not: It's a little fishing village on the south coast of Cape Cod, which has a wonderful, eclectic, beach-town vibe, and its namesake film festival is coming into its own. Movie Maker Magazine recently dubbed the Woods Hole Film Festival one of the top 25 coolest festivals in the world. Not bad!
We are ecstatic to premiere Birth at this festival, and we hope you'll join us to celebrate. As we've repeated often here on this Kickstarter blog, the successful path of this film would not have been possible without your continued support.
The Woods Hole Film Festival runs from July 27 to August 3, and Birth will screen on August 1 at 7pm as part of a collection of shorts titled "Unlikely Encounters."
Tickets go on sale June 29, and you can read more about the screening here:
Thanks again for believing in our film, and hope to see you in August!
The Birth Team
Is autumn really almost here? The time does fly. At Birth headquarters, we've been busy submitting our unique animated film to a variety of top-notch festivals--and waiting eagerly to hear what will happen. Meanwhile, we're also dreaming up new projects and working to get them off the ground. Perhaps more on that in the coming months!
Most importantly, we are trying to perfect our limited-edition DVD, which some of you out there are still waiting for. Fear not, they are coming soon to a mailbox near you. We've had some snafus finishing up the special menus and getting everything in ship-shape order, but we are excited to share them, and hope you can forgive the somewhat tardy arrival. It'll be worth the wait!
Stay tuned for festival updates and sending all best to our dear film fans,
-The Birth Team
Loyal Birth supporters--
A quick hello to let you know that we've officially applied to our first festival. It's very exciting! We'll be rolling out festival applications over the next few months and will send news if we're accepted for screenings.
Giveaways are also under way. If you were expecting just a postcard, or postcard pack, those should have arrived. Posters are en route, too, so if you haven't received yours, yet, hang tight, it'll be there soon. We'd love to know what you think of our giveaway artwork. Illustrator Lawrence Sampson worked hard on the designs, so please send feedback!
For donors expecting a DVD with special features, we're still working on those, but hope to have them ready shortly.
Thanks, as always, for supporting our animated film and look forward to hearing once you've received your giveaways. All the best,
-The Birth Team
Since our end-goal is in sight, we've also got giveaways on our mind, and perhaps you do, too! For those Fledgling and Chickadee backers looking forward to very-special Birth postcards, be on the alert: We're working on your gifts as we speak. Expect to get an email in the coming weeks with more particulars on that front. Gift packages for our Big Bird, Love Bird, Mama Bird, and Papa Bird supporters will be a few steps behind (we do, after all, have to finish the DVDs before we can send them out!), and keep in mind that your limited-edition thank-you postcards, signed by the Birth team, will come together with the rest of your special-delivery parcel.
