Unique new RFID Wallet with illuminating security feature (Canceled)
A minimalist wallet that makes card payments effortless and secure with Active Alert warning you of contactless theft. Slide Pay Go!
RFIDsecur™ Wallet with Active Alert Security Feature
Using contactless cards should be quick, convenient and secure, but in reality, it isn’t - We plan to change that.
Hello and thank you for getting this far! Stick with us to find out all about our exciting new wallet.
We are RFID Cloaked, the company behind the hugely successful Contactless Blocking Card, funded on Kickstarter in 2016. We’re back on Kickstarter now to launch our innovative new wallet.
Our mission is to make contactless payments 'effortless' and keep you safe from RFID identity theft. Introducing an industry first Active Alert which illuminates when your wallet is in range of a card reader..
Active Alert is a visual warning system we developed for confirming your wallet is within range of a card reader (no batteries or charging required!). This means, wherever you are, if it illuminates and you are not paying for something, someone could be attempting to read your card. Don't worry - your cards are perfectly secure within the wallet.
Incorporating Active Alert into the wallet was really important, but, we didn’t want to break with the clean lines and distract from the polished metallic finish. So, we have worked to create a visually clean surface, of solid coloured metal. Yet when the wallet illuminates having detected a reader, the light appears, as three circles of light through the metal surface in the bottom corner of the wallet. Everyone who’s seen it thinks it is pretty cool!
We worked closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure the finished look of the coating, whilst scratch resistant with a rich depth of colour, was optically suited to allow the Active Alert circuit to illuminate through the surface.
Traditional wallets, in general, demand you use both of your hands and remove your card to make a payment. This was fine when we were using more notes and having to insert our cards into a traditional card machine or payment terminal. With contactless payments now a part of everyday life, it no longer makes any sense. We wanted a wallet that was as beautiful to look at as it was effortless to use.
Our wallet not only protects all of your contactless cards with our proven blocking technology, it’s innovative design means your contactless payment cards need never leave your wallet. Simply slide out your contactless card to make a payment, release and it will automatically retract back, so your cards stay protected at all times. - that’s why we say Slide Pay Go
This unique wallet also allows you quick and easy retrieval of your cards if you do need it for the cash machine or larger payment amounts than the contactless limit allows..
So, what makes our wallet great for contactless cards?
Single-handed use - great for travelling or while you are on the phone
- Speed - your contactless card stays in the wallet
- Security - Peace of mind RFID protection, without compromise
- Ambidextrous use - perfect for left and right-handed users
- Active Alert, visual warning of any attempt to read your bank cards
A lot of non-traditional wallets are very similar either industrial and overly complex or of simple elasticated construction. The majority of wallets just mimic their traditional counterparts in design and generally add RFID blocking as an afterthought.
Our wallet has been designed from the ground up for use with contactless cards rather than simply adapted from a traditional wallet design. We wanted it to be smooth, ergonomic and stylish. Something which you want to hold and which is effortless to use - single-handed..
Although the design and minimalist styling of the wallet was incredibly important to us, we also wanted to make sure that our wallet was practical to use and appealing to men and women alike. With this in mind, we combined smooth ergonomics and stylish, contemporary design with perfect functionality to bring you the optimum, minimalist wallet experience. Nothing else compares, you will be the envy of those around you.
Having broad appeal, in terms of both material and design, we looked not just at the ergonomics and the aesthetic design, but also the appeal colour adds, which only leaves one question..
It’s your choice! Our wallet comes in 6 amazing colours + translucent just like the prototype!.
Firstly, let's just say our wallet is slim. At 8.5mm it is as thin as your average mobile phone! Unlike some other slim wallets available, what you put in it will not change that fact! We’re amazed by the plethora of slim wallets on KS which then proceed to fit 400 cards in, what! Is it just me?
Unashamedly we designed our wallet to hold the two contactless cards you use most often, one per drawer. This could be your bank and credit card, or even your access key card.
We then considered what else you may want to carry and how often you require them.
A driving license or IDentity card,
- Emergency cash, one folded note (£50, €50, $100)
- Train tickets, car parking tickets
- A further bank card perhaps
- A hotel key card
Here's a selection of possible combinations you can have.
Train or car park tickets
Cash or note and additional bank card or Drivers Licence
ID and Driving License
We believe we have created the perfect wallet for everyday use, combing effortless access to your contactless cards with beautiful design and flawless functionality.

Backers, we need to raise the funds for the tooling to make the injection-moulded items, the metal-stamped sections and plating jig. We have completed all the processes we can with soft tooling, SLA printing and CNC prototypes. Working closely with each of the component manufacturers during these stages, they are fully aware of the various demands placed upon the components, and how the components come together to make the final assembled product.
ABS plastic is used for the frame for strength and durability, the drawer is a polycarbonate for added extra strength in thin sections. All structural and mechanical metal parts throughout the wallet are stainless steel, the design elements are also made from high-quality stainless steel 301 electro-polished for finish.
The plating to apply the metallic colours, are finely controlled so that we can have transparent metal similar to a one way mirror, which allows for our Active Alert to visually light up; but when not in use, there is a consistent finished appearance.
We have not rushed to bring this product to you, because we want it to be ready to manufacture. Whilst there will be some tweaks made during the tooling phase to account for manufacturing requirements, our suppliers and our design team is confident we will overcome any issues that might arise. The hard work is behind us, the thousands of personal hours and in development costs have got us this far. We would love to have your support and we really hope, that what we have shown you, will instil confidence in us. With our proven ability to deliver in the previous Kickstarter and with with your pledges, we would love to make this wallet for you.
We are a small team, mostly based in the UK, formed in 2015 in Exeter, Devon, with clients and suppliers spanning the globe.
We are expanding this team with like-minded individuals, who seek to excel at what they do. This level of commitment ensures we design, build and deliver, truly exceptional products, using the best possible materials to solve unique problems.
The journey has had its highs and lows, but our determination to work through any problem, means we are stronger than ever to truly make this happen. The whole making of this campaign, the video, the artwork aside from the renders, we produced ourselves, even the bags under the eyes are our own hard work!
Join us on our journey to produce ever more unique products.
A brief history of 18 months:
We love our ultra-thin Protection cards, but realised there was not a wallet specifically designed for contactless payments. This set the cogs in our brains working overtime, defining the issues and how to address them whilst using our proven shielding technology.

Risks and challenges
Every projects carries its risks and challenges - we understand the risks and have carefully considered and mitigated risk as much as possible by considering all aspects of the design and manufacturing process.
From 3d visualisations in software to prototypes, redesigns, 3D prints, CNC finished models, testing, tweaking, refining small elements and proving processes. We have looked at and tested our supply chain. They are proven suppliers of a very longstanding business associate of 21 years who will be overseeing all aspects of the production.
We need to finalise testing at the moulding stage, which we have modelled, but can't complete until we actually start the moulding process. We have to construct a jig to hold the parts in place for plating.
The final aspect is assembly. The whole assembly pushes together very simply (another key design aspect) and we will then bond the components together to form the finished assembly, much like a smartphone is assembled today.
All the processes are proven techniques adapted and designed in, from the outset, to remove any requirements of overly complex assembly.
We are highly confident that we will ship under our allotted timeline.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
