Last Hours & Silkscreen Unlocked!

Posted by Dennis Hoyle (Creator)

The Final Hours:

We're entering the final hours of the campaign! To all, thank you for your incredible support throughout this project. I look forward to continuing to engage with you and learn from all of your thoughts and feedback as we move forward into production and other post-campaign work!

Silkscreen Unlocked!:

We've reached the $19,500 stretch goal for the Croc/Boat Meeple Silkscreen! Good job!

Up Next:

Edging out Rugged Survival in a very close race, the Endangered Species Expansion is up next at $21,000! This expansion adds the following:

1 Tiger Treasure Card: That's right, you will be able to collect tigers as treasures, but we've also added...

5 New Adventurer Cards: All of which relate to the tiger in some way. The Conservationist, for instance, is working to save the tiger and will stop at nothing to prevent it being collected. The Bereaved Father, on the other hand, lost his child to a tiger attack and is out for revenge.

 New Voting:

Go here to cast your vote for the next goal! There are three options.

1. The art variant for Heartroot/Mooncaps

2. Rugged Survival Expansion

3. Bonus Treasure Chits: These are little punchboard tokens that are used for keeping track of treasures collected about 7 of any one type. We will add 4 chits to the game.

Also, we've decided to reveal all of the available stretch goals on the campaign page. Stop by to check them out!

Thanks for backing!

Dr. Benn: Thanks for the comment! You are the first to raise this perspective, but certainly it is valid. It was not our intention to cause offense or remind anyone of loss with this card. In fact, the concept of revenge killings is a serious issue in some parts of the world and we had hoped to design the adventurer cards to be true to life.

In either case, since we have not reached this goal, I don't expect you will see this character in the game. Thanks for drawing awareness to this perspective.

Wondering if anyone else is bothered by the "bereaved father" card? As a father, the loss of a child is something I'd rather not contemplate while playing a game. Perhaps I'm more sensitive than many since, though my children are alive and well, as a pediatrician I've shared this horrible experience with several less fortunate parents. It's not something I can take lightly. If this card stopped me in my tracks, I can only imagine what it might do to a truly bereaved parent. To those who would say, "Suck it up", I would say, "Why should I have to if a slight modification could eliminate the unpleasantness?" How about "Poacher"? At any rate, it's not as if I'd give up on the game. If the card stays as is, I'll just toss it. My core gaming group are all fathers & doctors as well and I really wouldn't want to risk bringing down the mood.
