We have always endeavored to instill a certain aesthetic into Coldwater Crown: a feeling of measured unity with cold, harsh nature, and balanced with the excitement of uncovering the many small riches it offers. Anne Morrow Lindbergh's quote in the header above highlights this concept so well, and does yet more in subtly introducing a new adventure.
Simply put, Coldwater Crown: The Sea, a masterful expansion to the original game designed by Brian Suhre, is coming. We have no dates yet, but the gameplay is effectively done. Our brilliant illustrator, Beth Sobel is hard at work on the first art pieces, and plans are being laid. Like the Sea, we move forward in steady, patient, resolve.
In Coldwater Crown: The Sea you will trade in your tiny fishing boat for a sturdier vessel, and move out to Sea to fish for new, big, deep water fish. Sea fish are especially lucrative to catch and can be caught with any color of bait, but while at sea you won't be able to catch fish from the Shore, Lake or River. How long will you choose to ride the open waves in search of Pollack, Red Sea Bream or the massive Blue Shark, knowing that every turn at sea is a turn lost at the mainland? And we haven't even mentioned the elusive Giant Squid...
Coldwater Crown Fishing (Mobile App):
We have made tons of progress on Coldwater Crown Fishing, the mobile game based on Coldwater Crown. It has been a learning process, but it has been a lot of fun and the project is really starting to coalesce.
In the app, you will complete a series of Coldwater Crown "tackle box" inspired levels as you advance to win the Dock, the Pond and the Lake trophies. Earn coins for catching fish and beating levels, and use your coins to purchase special upgrades and unlock new challenges.
We don't have a release date for Coldwater Crown Fishing yet, but if you would like to receive notification when it launches and for opportunity to beta test the app, sign-up here. When you sign-up for notification you will also receive access to download two commissioned music pieces for the game for your personal enjoyment!
Something a Little Different:
For only 3 more days we have a surprisingly fun dexterity game on Kickstarter called Mars Open: Tabletop Golf. Its something you really have to see, and then experience to truly understand, but we have been thrilled by the response of players so far. People have called it better than Flipships and Ice Cool, which are two other awesome dexterity games, and we think you will like it too. Check out our campaign and give it a boost!
That's all for this update! If you are sick and tired of getting Coldwater Crown updates, you can turn them off on Kickstarter, but we have no idea why you would want to do that!
Thanks for helping make all of this possible!
