Imagine waking up without being nuzzled by a cold wet nose. Picture making breakfast without tripping over a bundle of fur. Envision a deafening silence when you're trying to sleep, instead of a sweet and melodic high pitched meow ringing in your ears. Can you imagine a crueler fate than a life without cats?
Hisstopia is a puzzle game where you get to bring joy back into a bleak, catless world. Use the patented Magnetic Crane to relocate cat spawning crates to the spots where they can make the most meaningful impact. Get the cats to their goal and re-paw-pulate the planet!
All art and animations are created by me! All sound and music will be created specifically for Hisstopia!
Nothing is new under the sun (except for cats) but despite that all the puzzles are all made by me!
There will be more puzzle variety for a more engaging play! There will be different types of tiles as well an environment for your cats to interact with.
There's more than one kind of cat in the universe, by unlocking different kinds of cats you can help shape this lonely world. A world filled with different cats means a more dynamic game play experience. Will they fight each other? Cuddle? Complain about nasty cucumbers? We don't know...yet.
Who said re-paw-pulating a planet was easy? You'll soon have to make sure cats don't encounter harmful animals or obstacles, transport them across an interactive tile map, and even have the cats communicate with each other in different ways! If you don't though, you'll be shamed and will have to try again, what a bummer.
Risks and challenges
The creation of this game will be during the end of high school and my freshman year of college at the NYU Game Center. This transition could be a challenge for scheduling and there will more than likely be a few delays for production, especially because I'm doing all the programming and visual asset creation! Above all that I hope to deliver a quality game with all the support I can receive from the funding of this Kickstarter.
*This Project is supported by Urban Arts Partnership's School of Interactive Arts (SIA). SIA faculty work closely with student game developers to ensure that they are on schedule and have every necessary resource at their disposal.

**[How does funding go towards these planned features?] Asset creation takes time and skill. Not all assets can be created solely by the developer. Funds go towards hiring creators and towards student expenses incurred while programming and developing the project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
