Hey there, I’m Josh from The Dunk Tank Company. Over the years we’ve worked using my company to do new and innovative things with Dunk Tanks, all in the name of bringing fun and entertainment to wherever I possibly can.
Dunk tanks are a fun carnival game that people both love to interact with and, be a part of. They are unique in the way of being both a game and a form of entertainment for both the person sitting in the tank as much as it is for the person trying to dunk them by throwing balls at the target in order to knock them in. Whenever we bring out a dunk tank to any place, smiles and laughter always follow!
Over the years of running them in many places, I started thinking up ways to improve the fun and interactivity on both sides of the game. I started running dueling dunk tanks in various places, and let me tell you, that idea went over with a big splash.
Now in the age of streaming live gaming through sites such as twitch and YouTube, people are drawn to interactivity instead of passively watching their entertainment, and that kind of thing has become easier than ever to do!
We are looking to do something completely original here that makes use of the uniqueness that only can be done through internet streaming medium and the wacky antics and interactivity of dunk tanks!
What we have been working on here at The Dunk Tank Company is a live streaming game show featuring something the internet viewers already love to see people do: playing video games.
What makes this different tho is our players here will be playing these various games while sitting above my lovely dunk tanks!
In the same vein of those old wacky Nickelodeon game shows people have enjoyed over the years, when a player loses at a game or other various conditions playing against someone else, the seat will drop and they will fall in getting completely drenched hilariously.
In addition, in order to make plenty of usage of this unique platform available to us in ways those old game shows could only dream about, we will have many opportunities for people watching the show live to interact with the show and effect our players in numerous and various ways! Including the ability to mess them up making their plunge into despair all the more inevitable.
This concept combines the idea of a lets play show with the various aspects of fun crazy game shows everyone remembers from their youths with both concepts being taken to the next level. We definitely think there is an audience out there for this kinda style show, which has kinda since been long forgotten about…
As far as we are aware, no one has yet to do something on this scale as a weekly internet streaming show and we would love to be the first, especially with already having the unique perspective and access to these things here.
So you are probably asking yourselves “if they already have dunk tanks and cameras, why are they coming to Kickstarter with this?”. Well as much as we would love to already be diving into these waters, all this water here costs a LOT of money… especially for several tanks full every week.
In addition, we like to provide not only entertainment in ways other people can’t, but also with quality.
We are looking to rent out a place in order to have a full studio set up and place to film and keep everything in order to be able to do this constantly and consistently, week after week.
With the funding we are asking for here, it will go into producing a really fun show to watch that quality wise will be worth watching… and possibly a few other surprises too!
Unfortunately none of these things come cheap.
We would love to make this idea a reality and we think the internet could really use something fun like this in a day and age where sometimes things are just a bit too serious… and I would hope you all would like to come with us on this journey of silly splashing fun and help make it happen!
