Wow! The wonderful world of Wakfu is now over 1000 backers strong! Thank you all so much! To best express our gratitude to all our fans, we asked Kim (AKA tchokun), one of the head artists on Wakfu, to put our feelings into a quick sketch just for you:
And to keep that spirit of joy and excitement going, we have an update about everyone's favorite full-contact, no-holds barred, World of Twelve sporting activity... GOBBOWL!
WARNING! The following information is reserved for adult audiences only! Sensitive souls, shrinking violets, fragile egos, and beginner bullies are asked to move along and practice their knitting instead!
You hearty few who are left are now free to enter the Bonta Arena and discover the world of Gobbowl!
This iconic sport of the World of Twelve has been around for centuries - two teams and thousands of screaming fans, all struggling over a wooly, horned ball... that's the heart and soul of Gobbowl!
In the early days of its development, this sport is rumored to have been played with a live Gobball, one of the unruly sheep-like creatures that populate the countryside near Astrub, Amakna, and Bonta. This is where the sport got its name. However, players quickly discovered that a ball was less aggressive, less dangerous, and less likely to wander off of the field during half-time, which is why today, players use the standard Gobbowl ball instead.
The rules are quite simple: there are no rules! Cheating is not only permitted, it's suggested!
This doesn't mean that there are no referees, of course! It just means that each ref is likely to call the play on the behalf of the richest team... or the team most likely to beat a ref up in an alley after the game!
We've prepared a Gobbowl trailer for you, to give you a taste of the sweat, excitement, and adrenaline rush you can expect from a great game... and we'll leave it up to you to imagine how on earth Yugo and the Brotherhood wound up on the field...
And here's some other sketches and background images to help you really feel the delight of being there in the stands...
See you on the field!
