The Broke Agent is a comedic media brand focused on the entertainment of real estate professionals. Conventional real estate publications lacked edge, authenticity, and most importantly humor. Predominately focused on the humor of the industry, the “BA” created his own platform of highly engaging, socially driven, relatable content for all people involved in the business. In two years of existence, The Broke Agent has been making real estate professionals laugh every day with hilarious content in the form of Tweets, blog posts, videos, podcasts, memes, and comics. The next step is to bring these comics and ideas to life in a digitally animated web series! That's where you come in...
All we hear is the success stories and the glamour of the industry portrayed on social media and on TV. I want to tell the story of what it is like to be a real estate agent who is trying to make it in a city filled with egos and greed. The Broke Agent's dream is to create an unfiltered, edgy animation series that captures the unthinkable social encounters that occur in the real estate industry.
Although the episodes are fictional, they are all loosely based off of actual experiences of real estate agents around the world.
The funding will go to the production of the pilot episode. Specifically, it will go to character design, storyboarding, concept art, backgrounds, composting, animation, and exportation.
The pilot episode is written. The animator is ready. All we need is YOU to help make this dream become a reality! The episodes will be one to two minutes long. Our goal is to put an entire season into production after the pilot.
Risks and challenges
The purpose of the Broke Agent brand is to bring levity to a stressful industry. The risk that comes with completing this project is that people don't find it entertaining or funny. I highly doubt this will happen because we have an incredible writing staff (me) and a fantastic animator. But, the risk of creating content is that some people might not like it. Those people are called "Haters." The other risk that comes with the series is that the edgy content might personally destroy my real estate career. But, I am willing to take that risk to make you guys laugh...Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
