My name is Emy Bitner and I'm the author of Trying Human, a webcomic filled with UFOs, aliens, and mystery. The plot follows Rose, a human girl being abducted by a group of aliens known as the Greys, a species without feelings or empathy. Throughout the story she meets Hue, a strange Grey with feelings, and his friend, Quazky, a Reptilian alien with access to technology that gives the two the ability to look human. Rose, Hue, and Quazky are joined by a large cast of aliens and humans, all telling their stories through the lens of Ufology lore.
★ Ufology is a neologism meaning study of UFO’s and alien phenomena! ★
I've been working on Trying Human full time for approximately 8 years, busily crafting it into a multi-volume graphic novel. The first volume went into print in 2014 with brand new artwork and pacing. Volume 2 is currently getting the same treatment with approximately 3/4's of the book completed.
Each page is being carefully re-drawn and re-lettered to get the biggest impact both online and in print. To see more of the reworked pages with side by side comparison, please check out Trying Human: First Tries!
Trying Human Volume 2 is being printed by the same company that produced Volume 1 (so they'll look good side by side). For this Kickstarter, I'm introducing a new print and poster for the reward brackets along with a chance to get new bookmarks, stickers, and extra posters as stretch goals. Please join me while I finish Volume 2 and keep this alien party rolling!

Risks and challenges
Unlike the Kickstarter for Volume 1, this book as of writing this on May 1st, 2016 is incomplete. My biggest obstacle is completing the book but so far it's going swimmingly (with approx. 70% completion). I really want to take everyone along with me as I do new pages, design the covers and interiors, and hopefully make some new promo art. Having feedback from the readers has been incredibly helpful in my evolution as an artist and I feel the same experience via the Kickstarter will give me more confidence in the finished product. Also it's more fun like this, dontcha' think?Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
