A second storyline that begins every chapter, encompasses the lives of Phillis, Walter, and Dr. Glasner, all of whom are stationed at the Nellis Testing Range in 1947. Followed by a menagerie of aliens, the mysterious MAJESTIC12, and one defunct German scientist, the two girls try to figure it all out with over half a century between them.
The first four chapters which comprise the first volume focus mostly on Rose's abductions, her boyfriend Roger's new job for a secret branch of the government, and Phillis' initial encounters with EBE1, an alien under her care.
The most obvious influence to the comic is modern Ufology (a neologism meaning study of UFO’s and alien phenomena) with much of the focus being the interpersonal relationships between the aliens and humans. Along with a large cast and a long, detail oriented plot, it’s not for the casual reader.
I began writing Trying Human when I was 14 in 2000 and started to draw and publish it online in 2008. The first volume has seen major improvements since its inception with all 139 pages being redrawn for print… Some have even been redrawn for a third time. The process took approximately 2 years of diligent work while I updated the current storyline.
This Kickstarter will be the jumping off point for the rest of the volumes to be printed. If you can't give to the Kickstarter, there are other ways to support Trying Human listed below. Any contribution to my labor of UFO love would be most appreciated.

Risks and challenges
The book is completed and ready to print so all I need are the funds to get it through the last stage. The shipping dates for the hardbacks may be pushed back slightly as they are hand-bound and the process usually takes a month to fulfill.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
