There is the 1, the only one in your heart, the 5 you wear behind your knee, the 13 you fear, the 45 you **** so much, the beloved 51, and the 9, the new season at The Invisible Dog Art Center.
Every year we turn to you, our dear community, to ask for your help bringing a new season to life. Because of you, we are able to grow each year, build on what we’ve made together and spark in new dialogues, both here on Bergen Street and beyond.
Every dollar you give to our Kickstarter goes directly to commissioning new artist-driven projects in our space. We believe that when given space, funding, and resources to experiment, artists produce outstanding work. Your donation, small or large, makes our artist’s wildest dreams a reality, bringing their energy, vision and insights to 51 Bergen Street. With your contribution, we will meet and surpass our Kickstarter Goal of $25,000.
This year all our rewards are related to food, cooking and the kitchen. If you know our director well, this doesn’t need explanation. If you don’t know, cooking is Lucien’s new obsession. Everyday he is experimenting in the kitchen and documenting it through his Instagram account @lucienchefambition. Food connects to many of our values here at The Invisible Dog: sharing, learning, loving.
Remember that Invisible Dog is a non-for Profit 501C3 and your donation is tax deductible.
We have so much planned for our 9th season: ambitious installations, fresh performances, readings, workshops and concerts. This year we program a series of events in our outdoor space and expand our youth-oriented programming.
Thank you for being part of The Invisible Dog family and investing in original artist projects. You make this space possible and give us energy and courage as we enter the next year.
Thank you to Mac Premo who directed this awesome video with the generous participation of Adrianna Dufay (Producer), Divya Gadangi (Associate Producer), Owen McLean (Editing and Sound Design), and Evan (Production Assistant).
Special thank you to Anne Mourier and Tattly for this year’s tattoo “Always Fresh, Always New” and to all the artists who have donated a part of their talent to support this season at The Invisible Dog.

Risks and challenges
There are risks inherent to programming cultural presentations and managing a facility as large and old as ours. We typically program one year ahead of time, and in the months leading up to an opening, the scope of the project may change demanding a change in scheduling or venue. Our building is well-maintained, but as with any structure, occasionally repairs need to be made that might delay or alter our programming. However, we are well-aware of the types of challenges we face, and as we have been in business for four years, we have developed a strong ability to make decisions in the present that offset risk in the future. Moreover, our staff has over a decade of producing experience, and as such, we know how to meet challenges calmly and with an innovative approach to solutions.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
