Take control of a Territory and lead the creatures living there to victory! Will you be able to dodge the claws of the chimera, the charging behemoths, the fangs of the bisclavret, or the tentacles of the kraken? Use every opportunity, find the best strategy, be ruthless !
This modern trick-taking game will force you to endlessly adapt : imagine a classic card deck where the 7 of hearts is also the 3 of spades, the 6 of diamonds, and the king of clubs... It's up to you to choose which ! Add to that the fact that if you play a weak card, you are able to activate a special rule which turns the game around!

Of all the herds, the 9 Peaks District's is the one which managed to keep fighting along the lines of a code of honour : its most important points are to respect your opponent, and to be aware of the dangerous nature of the fights. No creature from this herd will voluntarily finish off a wounded foe.
-The Chimeras, totem animal of the game, are powerful and famous. Suspicious by nature, they are most effective when taking advantage of a round where the other creatures really go at it, staying at a distance until the fight wraps up and their opponents are tired, at which point they swoop in for the win.
-The Stone Trolls are sturdy but will mostly score lucky points in scrappy confrontations, once the strong creatures have already fought. Despite this, it wouldn't be wise to underestimate them.
-The Cerberus are a plague. Their immortal virtue is quite useful. Luckily though, they're only dangerous for a single attack.
-The Dragons... The iconic mountain creatures are the element of surprise of the herd : very useful as the “cache”, their magical aura allow you to get fortune cards which can turn the game around.
-The Minotaur has a special sensibility, always mindful of the weak. Only justice matters to it. And it will make sure it gets respected, even if it costs it the victory.
-The Almas will be the hardest one to control. It will be able to win clashes by itself... but you better be sure of yourself when you play it.
-The Mountains' Fortunes : They try to mystify you by turning the loser into the winner, by deciding who's gonna start the next round, by applying effects twice, …
The end justifies the means, all the means. Nothing will stop them proving their superiority. They are the only one able to play every virtue of the game and as such have one more creature than their adversaries. Always be on your guards when facing a nocturnal animal.
-The Werewolves know how to surprise you in order to inflict serious injuries. They will try to intimidate you and will resort to treachery and trickery if need be. Do not underestimate them.
-The Bakus feed on your dreams : unrelenting, nothing will stop them from reaching their objective. They'll steal all of the fame points within their reach. And they'll slap you in the process, just for kicks.
-The Berbalangs are vampire-like creatures. Unable to die, they will come back as many times as necessary : for them, each defeat is a step towards victory.
-The Phoenix allow you to use several strategies : win a clash or use them as cannon fodder so you can get fortune cards.
-The Nidhogg is fear made flesh. It is the perfect fighter : not bound by senses of moral or conscience, only victory will bring it satisfaction. It is a crowd favourite. The spectators fear it as much as they admire it.
-The Behemoths suffocate their foes under their incredible weight. They are the largest land creatures in the known universe. Masters of earth, nobody can challenge them.
-The Ryu fly silently in the night's darkness. Their only discernible features are their eyes, and the occasional light reflecting scale. Their claws are deadly.
-The Nocturnals' Fortunes : how frustrating it is to play against them ! They can break your game by making you reuse a card you discarded, by switching 2 pawns, or by stealing a fortune...

Chimera Sanctuary is a game that allows you to create tactics, and plan ahead, but mostly to be reactive and adaptable to your opponents' moves. Each creature is different and allows use of original effects. It'll be up to you to counter their power, and to make use of your own assets.
Depending on the success of the campaign, some SG have already been prepared to increase the possibilities of gameplay ! More cards ? More rules ? More players ? A better card quality, an additional player, a more polished game board, ... how many will get unlocked ?
You can now play with 4 friends (so 5 players total for my mathematically challenged friends), or just switch it up with a new herd with the desert for theme : giant worm, sphinx, griffin, ammout, manticore, Titan spider !

Here is the Playmat Pledge for a better play ! This one is 24"x14", polyester fabric, and designed by our illustrators, full color printing.
The game allows for fast learning thanks to clear and simple rules, while also keeping a tactical depth that will please even the most hardcore players.
An example of a trick :
- The first player plays a card and chooses the suit (cross, shield, thorn, or star) the trick will be played in. The next player has 3 choices : - play a stronger card and take the lead - play a card of equal strength (pointless, the card will be rotated and lose half its strength) - play a weaker card which allows them to activate the virtue (special rule in the red circle). Once the trick is over, count the points. The player who won the trick starts the next one.
- In addition to these rules, you will have to deal with 2 peculiar cards : the Cache, which will allow you to place valuable points in a safe place, or to put away an animal you deem useless... and the Maraudeuse : this card is given by an opponent but is yours to use..
- You can pick bonus cards which can completely turn everything around is you play them at the right time !
The cost of shipping has been calculated in order to be as low as possible. Several ways of transportation are considered depending on the final number of backers.

Allow me to take you back to the origins of this crowdfunding, the one which may make dreams come true. I am a passionate dreamer who created a high quality game for your enjoyment. In development for the past 3 years, it has been tested and is perfectly balanced.
But to go all the way into the realisation of this dream, I need your help. I have already injected 2.000€ in this project myself in order to make it happen, which is how I have these beautiful illustrations to show you today. But unfortunately, in order to finalize the game and produce 1000 copies, 3800€ are still required. Which is why I'm turning to Kickstarter today, and launching this campaign. So that together, we may produce Chimera Sanctuary and make it a reality.

Any costs shown in $ are based on the exchange rate in effect during the first day of the campaign.
By pledging to this Kickstarter, you acknowledge that the final appearance, materials and content of the rewards (and the Kickstarter) are subject to change and may differ slightly from what is presented while the Kickstarter project is active.
We have already handpicked two manufacturers, the final choice will depend on the final number of games to produce. In addition, several transportation solutions have been considered, the choice of which will once again depend on the quantity to handle.

We have indicated the slowest pace of production possible in order to get that estimated delivery date (August 2018), and communication with the backers will be regular (once a month at the very least).
