You might know us already—Clint and Jodi Black—from our work with Savage Worlds and Pinnacle Entertainment Group. Clint and his family have made furniture for three generations in Hickory, NC, furniture capital of the world. We think we're uniquely qualified to bring you a classic looking table suitable for everyday dining and Game Night.
We've designed the Carolina Game Table for roleplaying games, board games, and puzzle enthusiasts.
There is a wide edge for leaning on (or placing a character sheet, game tokens, or puzzle pieces) with most of the play area in easy reach. The 32" x 50" play area is 3 inches deep and covered in burgundy cloth.
The overall table is 4 feet wide and 6 feet long, and designed to seat six people comfortably.
The classically styled table looks and works like any dining room table. The table top fits securely over the play area, covering it and extending to the table's edge. There are no gaps or spaces, so spills and crumbs don't end up in your play area.
The finish is called "French Couture" and is a nice medium brown finish falling between light and dark wood stains to be complementary with both. The finish also has red undertones so it pairs well with cherry or mahogany hues as well. We want it to look good with your existing furniture, no matter what shade you have.
Most of the photos on this page were taken at Gen Con Indy 2015 and the lights were usually overbright, making the wood look more golden in some photos. See the above photo with our family, and watch the video, to see the truer color.
New Kitchen Table Reward!
Starting at $1199, the Kitchen Table is a four foot square table with a 38 inch square inset play area and 5 inch edge surrounding it. Remember, you can still play larger games on the 48 inch square table top!
New Finish Options!
Your game is ready anytime, simply remove the top!
For tabletop roleplaying Game Masters and war/miniatures gamers...imagine the looks of wonder when you uncover tonight's dungeon!
For board game players...imagine pausing your epic European game to eat a nice dinner! You can even leave last week's unfinished game in the play area and play a party game on the table top!
For jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts...how many times have you rolled up your 1000+ piece puzzle only to unroll it and find the pieces undone? Or can't clear off a space big enough to play? With the Carolina Game Table your puzzle is always available!

This classically styled and comfortable Chair is sturdy and finished to match the Carolina Game Table and Side Tables/Benches.
The chair is 36" High x 20" Wide x 20" Deep.
The Side Table/Bench
This Side Table/Bench is wide enough for your Carolina Game Tables Coaster and a game book, tablet, laptop, dice tray, or anything else you want within arm's reach while playing your games. It's finished to match the table and chairs for a cohesive look.
The Side Table/Bench is 18" High x 18" Wide x 9" Deep.
When it's the holidays or any time you need additional seating, this side table doubles as a bench!
The Leather Coasters
To be perfectly honest, we knew not many of our supporters would be able to afford the Carolina Game Table, Chair, or Side Table/Bench, so we're offering blatant self-promotion with these coasters.
Reward yourself with just ONE coaster to have for Game Night. We appreciate your support, but the One Leather Coaster level is not eligible for any stretch goal rewards.
Or go all out and get a set of SIX for your Game Night, which come in a natural leather holder. The Set of Six Leather Coasters level is eligible for digital stretch goal rewards.
$30,000 Dinner and Dice: Food and Fun! Our friends in the game industry will send us their favorite Game Night recipes, which we'll compile into one handy PDF book, "Dinner and Dice!" Eligible to all backers pledging $25 or more.
$45,000 Dinner and Dice IN PRINT! Don't let Rob Schwalb's Hell Soup burn your tablet! If we can reach this level of funding all backers pledging $25 or more will receive a print copy of Dinner and Dice!
We have commitments from:
Ivan Van Norman
Professor Christopher McGlothlin
Liz and Kennon Bauman
and about 15 more folks interested—it will be a lot of fun and we hope we get to unlock this!
To add additional items to your pledge, simply increase your total pledge by the amount shown below for each item.
For example, if you backed for 1 Coaster at $5, and wanted to add 5 more at $4 each, you would pledge at total of $25...for that price, you might as well choose the Set of Six Coasters for $25 and get the digital stretch goal rewards!
Note additional shipping costs MAY be required for all Add Ons.
1 Coaster: +$5 each.
1 Set of 6 Coasters: +$25 per set.
1 Print Copy of Dinner and Dice: +$15 (only if $45,000 stretch goal is reached)
1 Side Table/Bench: +$149 each.
1 Chair: +$249 each.
1 Table: +$1499 each. If you want to buy 2 tables, that's fine with us and we'll give you the EARLY BIRD discount price for doing so! Note additional shipping costs WILL be required. This Add On item is ONLY allowed with a reward level already purchasing a Carolina Game Table: Early Bird, Carolina Game Table, Dining Room Set, or Ultimate Game Setup!
Our primary shipper only serves the lower 48 contiguous states in the U.S. Sorry, international friends...our delivery service just doesn't cross borders or go to Alaska or Hawaii.
We are not charging for shipping the Side Table/Bench, Chair, or any Table reward levels at this time, but be prepared to pay for shipping AFTER the Kickstarter. There are a variety of reasons we want to figure out your shipping cost later but here's the big one: All shipping costs in your pledge are applied to the total of our campaign—and this website takes a cut, that's how they do business, and we don't begrudge them that right. Rather than tack on a 10% or so upcharge to your shipping costs NOW, we'll just settle up later, hopefully in November.
We've estimated the shipping cost on the table as basically $250-$350 for most locations. We'll post a list of states and rates in an Update soon. You DO NOT pay shipping now. We will contact you at your Kickstarter email address to pay for shipping once we know the actual cost.
White Glove Delivery
We are thrilled to offer "white glove delivery" to those pledging for a Carolina Game Table! Your Chair(s) and Side Table/Bench(es) are also delivered with your table, greatly reducing the overall cost of the shipping.
"White glove delivery" means your package never touches a forklift. Once the delivery service receives your item, they unbox it, inspect it again, then repackage it for shipping. They deliver to your residence and bring it to the room where you want it. They unpack the table (trust me, we did that ourselves for Gen Con, and you don't want to!) and attach the legs. They then remove all the packing material before they leave. They're like magical fairies who put your table where you want it and leave no trace of themselves. For the price we're able to deliver, it's totally worth it!
Shipping time typically takes from 2-4 weeks depending on the specific destination. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we expect to have the furniture rewards shipping by the end of November, which means some backers may have their tables in time for Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, or at least by New Year's.
Chair and Side Table/Bench: UPS!
Believe it or not, the Chair packaging fits within the parameters for UPS delivery. If you're only getting one or two chairs, you may prefer UPS delivery. Delivery will be faster but without the White Glove service.
The same option applies to the Side Table/Bench as well with one additional benefit. We've designed the packaging for the Chair so the Side Table/Bench box fits within it, meaning we can ship a Side Table/Bench with a Chair at no additional UPS delivery cost.
What if I want to pick up my Table, Side Table/Bench, or Chair?
If you are local and want to pick up your rewards, we'll figure it out and make the arrangements. Be warned, however, the facility warehousing our items may charge a small fee for showing up on their doorstep. It's less expensive than paying shipping if you're within a day trip radius of Hickory, NC, but it might be easier just to have it delivered!

Risks and challenges
This is the first Kickstarter we have organized for our own project, but it's far from our first Kickstarter in terms of organization, promotion, and fulfillment. For that track record, look to Shane Hensley's Kickstarters for Pinnacle Entertainment Group, as well as others we have managed or advised for other game companies.
Everything from product design and fabrication to shipping is all set up and agreements are in place--the tables will begin construction as soon as payments clear!
We feel we've covered all the bases, but anything affecting the principals could delay fulfillment.
