Project Cancellation Update:
We are very thankful for those who helped support this Kickstarter, gave feedback on the design at Gen Con, DragonCon, and PAX Unplugged 2017, and the hundreds of customers of our game tables who got us to this point. To say thank you, we're sending everyone who backed this Kickstarter a PDF copy of Dinner and Dice: A Gaming Cookbook. Thanks for sticking with us and helping us spread the word!
We love this design but it's pretty clear the market will not support manufacture at this point. Really, we're saving our company a lot of money by not setting it up for manufacturing. In the end, that's what Kickstarter is all about.
Will we try again? "Never say never," right? But we don't think so. We have other design ideas we want to implement and plan to move forward on those. Stay tuned for our latest designs by signing up for our e-newsletter at www.carolinagametables.com
Are you late to the campaign and dying to have a Cabinet Game Table of your own? Email email@example.com. No promises. But we'll see what we can do.
What about the other game tables? Yes, we *definitely* still do those! We started this company by Kickstarting the Dining Game Table in 2015 and we have several designs. Go to www.carolinagametables.com for our full catalog.
The Finished Product: a Cabinet Game Table, with table attached!
Want to upgrade your game storage from merely functional to multi-functional? From bearable to beautiful? From disposable to indispensable?
That's why we designed the Cabinet Game Table!
It’s a Game Cabinet
The storage is specifically for games. Shelves designed to hold game boxes on their edge for easier access. Six smaller drawers for dice, cards, and other accessories. A bookshelf for game books (such as RPGs) up to 11” tall—with extra depth so the spines are protected in the interior. Two larger drawers for anything too big for the smaller ones. And double doors on the bottom open to large storage spaces for bigger games.
It’s a Table
The leaves of the table stow away on the sides of the cabinet. The trim on the front converts to the legs and a support stretcher between them for maximum support and stability. Simply connect the leaves, attach the legs, and fasten to the Cabinet to transform it to a three person table.
It’s a Game Table
And when you want to play a game, the top is reversible. The flip side has a one inch lip to keep dice and game pieces on the table. The 29.75” x 40.5” fabric–lined play area has enough room to handle a 24” x 36” game board with space to spare.

Why No Option to "Add-On" a Game Table?
Our website does a much better job of handling all the purchase options that go into ordering a Carolina Game Table than this Kickstarter ever could. Please check out the payment options and designs on our websie (see quick links below), and feel free to ask any questions here or email us privately at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember, all our designs include a table top in the price!
But the main reason we can't offer other tables as add-ons is the whole reason this Kickstarter exists: To determine if there are enough people interested in this design! If we meet our Kickstarter goal without other tables added to the total, we know the Cabinet Game Table design is marketable and sustainable.
We are not collecting payment for delivery during this Kickstarter.
Delivery will be billed at a later date (target May 2018).
There are three options for shipping the Cabinet Game Table. You do not need to tell us which you want until your order is complete!
White Glove Delivery
“White glove delivery” means your package never touches a forklift. They deliver to your residence and bring it to the room where you want it. They unpack your order (trust us, we’ve done that ourselves more than a few times, and you don’t want to!) and put it together. They then remove all the packing material before they leave.
Estimate White Glove Delivery prices to your area by going to our Calculator here. You'll also be able to test the rates for delivery of our Game Tables, Chairs, and Side Tables/Benches. You'll see for yourself how much you can save on shipping overall by ordering the Carolina Game Table of your dreams, plus matching Chairs and Benches, to go with that sweet Cabinet Game Table!
If you're ordering multiple pieces for a game store or other business location, this may be the best option for you. We'll work with you to provide an estimate.
Pick Up from Hickory, NC
Our showroom for Carolina Game Tables is in Hickory, NC! We can have the factory deliver your order to us for you to pick up. We'll work with you to arrange a day and time to pick up your order. There is NO COST for this service (we love to meet our customers!), but you need a vehicle large enough to accommodate the boxed item and enough people to move it. We're not getting any younger. :)
Carolina Game Tables, owned and operated by Clint and Jodi Black, continues a family tradition going on three generation of furniture manufacturing. You may also meet our daughters (gen 4!) at a convention sometime. Those building and shipping our beautiful furniture are contracted to do so, which keeps our costs low and the prices of our tables low as well. These are not made in someone’s garage or during weekend hours—we “share time” with other companies in a professional furniture manufacture facility using the latest tools through our special agreement.
We also make games to play on our beautiful gaming furniture. Jodi is Pinnacle Entertainment Group COO and Managing Editor. Clint is Savage Worlds Brand Manager and the Rules Guru for all of the amazing products we create at Pinnacle. Savage Worlds is an award-winning tabletop roleplaying game (we hope you’ve heard of it!) created by our good friend Shane Lacy Hensley. Our most recent Kickstarter for Pinnacle was the Doomtown Reloaded card game. Check out Pinnacle at www.peginc.com.
Carolina Game Tables are built with a frame of solid Indonesian mahogany: the legs, edges, sides, and trim are all solid hardwood, stained with one of four finish colors (see Options, above). The play area under the fabric is plywood and the fabric is glued on, wrapped around, and bolted up into the frame. This means you can drill through any part of the fabric to add DIY lights or other electrical embellishments (and we don't need to add the costs for UL certification).
The Cabinet Game Table is made from the same Indonesian mahogany. In places where solid mahogany isn't feasible or necessary, plywood and/or MDF are used with a mahogany veneer. The same stains are used so it matches your Carolina Game Table, Chairs, and Side Tables/Benches.
Physical assembly of our Game Tables and the Cabinet Game Table uses screws, nuts and bolts, glue, and mortise/tenon construction.
You won't need to do any of that, though! This render shows how the Cabinet will assemble in your home: the top piece fits into the bottom. You'd also insert the drawers. Finally, the shelves behind the glass doors are adjustable. And really, we recommend you let White Glove Delivery do everything.
Stain-Resistant Heavy Duty Fabric
We use hardy commercial grade velveteen and glue it to the plywood used in the play area. The velveteen is the kind hotel lobbies use for durability and ease of cleaning. It’s completely synthetic and there is no padding underneath to trap and hold odors. The fabric is rated “W” for water-based cleaners only. You don’t need to buy any special dry cleaning agents or pool table “felt cleaner” and in fact, should never use them! Just make sure your household cleaner doesn't have bleach. :)
The factory uses mahogany to build the table, but the surface you touch is actually a polyurethane lacquer sealing the finish color. To clean the wood of your table or Cabinet, simply use a no-wax dusting spray. We also recommend you protect your table top by using tablecloths, placemats, or coasters to make it last a long time.
Remember this is a fine piece of furniture! Treat it how your grandmother treated her nice dining room table.
If there's a single theme to what we hear about our company, it's that people appreciate our customer service. That's flattering, but we're just gamers, treating gamers how we want to be treated!
What we hear the most is our tables are well made and versatile. We're honored people see that. Here's where Clint's many years in the furniture manufacturing industry pay off. We're not making the cheapest game tables, but we're not "bespoke" either. We're aiming for "Game Tables for Real Life"—one piece that serves just as well as a fine dining room table (or Cabinet!), as it does a game table.

Risks and challenges
Our first Kickstarter for Carolina Game Tables fulfilled on time. Both Clint and Jodi have a history behind the scenes on Kickstarters for Pinnacle Entertainment Group (a total of 15 to date, all delivered or in production), and serve as consultants on other Kickstarter projects.
Everything from product design and fabrication to shipping is all set up and agreements are in place—the Cabinets will begin construction as soon as payments clear!
We feel we've covered all the bases, but anything affecting the principals could delay fulfillment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
