About this project
THE BIRDER is an intelligent and witty comedy about a mild-mannered high school teacher and avid birder who plots revenge against a younger, hipper rival, after losing the Head of Ornithology position at the local park.
We've been working very hard to get this film made since 2006 (6 Years). From the outset, our goal has been to make an honest comedy that we think people will want to see. Despite many challenges; we were able to pull things together and shoot the film this past summer.
We've come this far, but what we are not done yet...we now have all the footage we need to piece together a great movie, only problem is, we need more money to get through the many steps of Post-Production to complete the film. We need to edit the film, create authentic visual effects, ensure a crisp sound design and sound mix, secure cool music, apply to film festivals, promote the film and cover our legal and accounting expenses.
If we raise our goal we will be able to complete and deliver a film people will want to see. We started with a strong script, pulled together a great team of creative people (cast & crew) and now we want to do the film justice and finish it properly.
We need that last little push...we hope you will consider supporting our film. Many thanks!

NEW TO KICKSTARTER?
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website. It is where like minded individuals and even companies pool their financial resources; small or big to realize a project goal. In our case, we are calling on the fans of our movie to help us fund the remaining portion of our film budget so we can deliver the film to the world in proper fashion.
WHAT IF WE REACH OR SURPASS OUR GOAL?
If we reach our goal, then great! we go finish the film. If we surpass our goal, then we will use this additional money to go the extra mile. We will try to get the most ideal music for the film, or we'll add that extra tweak in visual effects, or give our sound guys more time to complete their work and we can even spend a bit more time and a few more dollars getting the film into more festivals and build the audience. Audience is very important, and a happy audience is even more important .... so please consider helping us to make the best possible film and then take it to the world.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER, STICK TOGETHER...
Want to help us fly further? You can! Tell family, friends and fellow birders to get involved by sharing our link on Facebook and Twitter. Spread the word by linking to our Kickstarter campaign on your personal Facebook profile and Twitter feed. This is truly a grassroots campaign and without your help and continued support, we won't be able to reach our goal and get this great film out to the masses.
Risks and challenges
Although the risks are minimal at this stage, there are still challenges to overcome. Our primary challenge is time, we have already submitted a rough version of the film to various film festivals, if we are able to secure acceptance into some of them, then we will need to complete the film as quickly as possible. This will force us to make decisions quickly about music, visual effects and other post-production and marketing activities; in short we will be balancing quality against time and money. What kind of music can we secure with the money we have under the time constraints? this is our primary challenge. If we secure the Kickstarter goal we will be in a better position to address this challenge.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
