"What do you need to go racing?" Thousands of the best racers in the world continually ask the same question. With only 43 spots making up the top level of racing. Each costing a team over 14 million a season to field. The chances to make it without major sponsors are slim to none."
"Working Class Hero" A multi-part Motorsports Documentary featuring the trials and tribulations of the modern day race car driver.
"So how does the journeyman racer make their way? Even at the local level tire bills can range over a $1000 a race. Fuel, pit entry, crew cost, travel expenses and the chance of a wrecked race car to repair can take a driver out of the seat and into the stands. Instantly. No matter how much work they have put in."

Early in his career Kyle Whisner was a NASCAR hopeful but due to the death of his father and the medical bills that accrued, his chances of making it to the top were cut short. 10 years later as a veteran of the sport, while navigating his way through a race season, Kyle will showcase the hard working drivers and crews that make up the sport we have all come to love.
In 2003 Kyle's father was diagnosed with multiple forms of cancer. Before a series of surgeries the team took home a win.
"Working Class Hero" is looking to bring awareness to the struggles families face when pitted against such a daunting situation. At times a little happiness is the only thing that relieves the pain. Not only will a portion of the documentaries race season winnings be donated to charity, but within the series you will see driver Kyle Whisner make appearances (with his superhero friends) to local children's hospitals.
