Transfix is a new documentary series that explores the lives of Transgender Women in their own words. We filmed Season One in Los Angeles.
Over this past year, the women of Transfix have told us their incredible and unbelievably honest stories that will surprise and inspire you. Transfix gives these women a collective voice that tells a universal story of struggle, triumph, humanity and love that will, at times, leave you speechless.
The first 13 episodes (Season One) of Transfix are entering post production. We want to continue producing this series independently, outside of the Hollywood system.
Our series lets these women tell their stories in their own words. We hear their truth, their reality. This is not the typical reality show intent on locking these women in a house to fight, or compete for prizes. Their real stories are so much more interesting!

Risks and challenges
We have spent many months filming all the participants in Transfix. We now have hundreds of hours of material on our hard drives waiting to be edited. Editing is a long, slow process. To complete Transfix, we must go through each of the interviews and discover how they relate and connect to the others so that we can best tell our story. Our challenge is to do this in a timely manner. With two full-time editors, we believe that we can cut together our episodes and complete post-production this spring. However, as with any creative process -- unexpected hurdles can happen.
We have spent many years working in the film and television industry. We have learned that unanticipated problems are the norm. That said, based on our experience, we believe that the hardest part of our production is behind us. We have filmed and interviewed these very fascinating women. We have done a rough assembly of the raw footage and it's great! Now, we just need to edit them together. It may take longer than we think but we are highly confident that we will be able to complete this project in the Spring of 2013.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
